No Exit Elevator Spawned
Hello,

I just started playing today. I'm in a level where no exit elevator seems to have spawned. It's a rescue mission during the beginner campaign.

I have several screenshots of the entire level uncovered. There's no sign of an exit.

Is this happening to anyone else? Am I missing something?

I have no idea how to do that, so I sent them on the Klei forums as a bug report with a copy of my save game.

Is that sufficient?

Alas, the official bug report did not have any attachments. It's possible that we have a bug, though it may also be that there is one unexplored tile that is sometimes hard to spot. If you press ALT, you can see unexplored tiles in the tactical view.

You might be right but several times i've been sure there was no "x" on the level only to find a very obscure location for a door. Try rotating the level

Alright, I've set the four in-game screenshots to public, so you should be able to view them on my profile. ...I think. None of these four show the ALT-view, because the screenshot button (F12) doesn't fire when ALT is being held down.

I took a fifth screenshot using the ALT-view outside of steam. Do you have an email address I can send it to?

From the ALT view, the only unexplored tiles appear to be in the guard elevators. Other than that tile, the grey border is unbroken around the entire level.

Hey Bryson, I can't see anywhere the exit would be hiding there as well, so I think you're right. That really sucks. I'm sorry man. There is a trick you can use to continue your game I posted here for someone else with the same problem :

I sent my savegame in the original bug report. Sadly it looks like you didn't receive it, and I've since cleared that save. Sorry about that.

In other news, I just rescued a Courier, and the item I gave him to assist in our escape despawned after the level. Is that intentional? Shouldn't the item go into my general inventory when the mission is over?

Gah, that does totally suck regarding the exit elevator. Apologies about that.

For the Courier -- yes, that's intentional. He ran away with your goods. We could make it go to the general inventory, though we'd need to decide what would happen if the inventory is full.

Ultimately it's a design decision on your part, but I'm not sure what it adds to the game to have to remember to click the "transfer items" button before the "exit" button once you're all in the elevator. At that point encumbrance (?) isn't relevant, because everyone's already in there with him anyway. And there's no reason to rush yourself, because it's a turn-based game. Maybe there's a strange edge case I'm not thinking of...?

Just a thought. I'm not telling you guys how to do your job; I appreciate you talking so directly with us.

What happens if I retire the agency? Or start from Day One? I mean I'm on like Day 3.

You can abort the mission to get a retry with a new map (if you're on a difficulty level that permits retries). Otherwise, follow the Dev's instructions above; They explain how to automatically complete the mission.
