You can also sometimes use the card to open up an extra room in missions with augment grafters, which either gives you more augments, or lets you remove one, depending on which room type is there (an easy way to tell is peek and check: 2 grafters = +2 augments, 1 grafter = augment remover).

Yes, that's correct. As mentioned earlier, there is a small chance that you can get key card from Monster (when he has stuff to sell).
