When to switch to Contingency Plan?

I know it's a totally subjective thing, but I wonder what are your opinions.

So I bought the game together with the DLC, but I read that it's probably best to play the base game at first. Went into Expert from the get-go and managed to beat it after a few tries (even though I can see now that I wasn't playing very well, basically KOing every guard I met, since I didn't read any guides and didn't know any better), and I thought that means I should probably activate Contingency plan and tackle Expert and Expert Plus there. But since there's quite a bit of new stuff and the campaign is longer, do you think it's better to play more of the base game and familiarize yourself with most of its content first?

I think that you should start playing the DLC now, but not on Expert Plus though. In that difficulty you can't see the enemy's sight area if they aren't in your's, and trust me that will throw you off a lot on your first run. I recomend another run on Expert with the DLC, the added content (agents, missions, etc) will make it look like an entirely different run.

Hmm, I think I'll beat the base game on Expert once more and try to do it in a more "proper" way, and then I'll switch to DLC Expert.
