Don't get me wrong, I have a whole[www.larian.com] bunch of[www.larian.com] complaints[www.larian.com] about the game, there are a lot of things I'd like to see improved, but it was not a scam or a con.
I thought it was a good game which integrated all its elements together pretty well. The RTS mode was definitely the weakest part, but the game was by no means crap.
Note that the GDC talk also had Vincke say that Divinity 2 was terrible, when most people, (especially after DKS was released) ended up considering it to be the best game Larian's ever made (until Original Sin at least).
It's rather refreshing to see developers who are willing to puublically admit that they screwed up, and that they have learned lessons about how to do things better.
EDIT: Oh, it's YOU again, Wolf. Nevermind, you're the one who was constantly throwing temper tantrums because you didn't pay any attention to all the well-known information about the gameplay changes between the initial announcements and the final release.
Although I will read the links from Stabbey in due time
I have to bequeath "AuldWolf ! Get down from that soapbox before you break something !". You're a level 0 Steam member probably only looking to rile some people up. You'd have a bigger chance of convincing Cawadjoodie fanboi's to stop buying map-packs.
Hype Kills games lads, Hype kills games.
I paid 40 dollars after a thumbs up from angry joe, and then I unsubscribed from angry joe afterwards.
And I'm actually enjoying it too !
There are only a few units and that's it in the creation video there where amazing skybattles but none of it in this, the risk styled game play is fun and some of RTS play and the dragon part too, there where more dragons but they where cut too. so it's worth it in sale time's like this 10$
i have the impreal edtion witch is 5$ more i think witch is reasnable you get art and some music art as well. over all the games worth it in when 10$ - 15%$.
I like this game for the RTS and dragon part.
Ew a ♥♥♥♥♥♥
My main concern with Dragon Commander is whether or not it is finished or not. In fact, I'm about to open a thread asking which I should use, the Beta or the regular version? I had read they might revisit it to revise any bugs and features. Don't know if they ever did after the release of Original Sin.
NOTE:
Ends up that the BETA version is an old pre-order version. So stick with the normal version and it will not likely be updated further.
Oh please do not let that discourage anyone from replying into this ancient thread. Even if multiple people have called him out on his flawed logic and/or "soap box shouting" mentality. Allow me to explain in 3 bullet points:
1# The game in itself is not bad at all, which should be said from the get-go.
2# The fact that people actually care enough to post about this game pleases me. In my humble opinion we need more games like this on PC. I miss the RTS and TBS genre a whole lot
3# people re-verifying my statement I made back in march, is in one form or another great for my ego :D
