Linux Update
Hey RPG fans!

We are glad to release an update for the Linux version of Bound By Flame. It includes several improvements:
- Fix of several crashes with some specific equipment (PS3 pad, Microsoft keyboards with a Joystick...)
- Native support for PS3/PS4 pads
- Fix of an issue with some specific keyboards

Thanks for your support!

Have fun in Vertiel,
Spiders & Focus Home Interactive

Thanks for working on Linux support!

I’m still getting the same bugs as before, but it makes sense as they are unrelated to gamepad support:

- pressing a global keyboard shortcut key (volume up/down or play/pause) still iconifies the game.
- the camera is still going up by itself when I move the mouse left-right.
- the GUI buttons and the mouse pointer are still offset vertically in windowed mode.
- before the beta, going to windowed mode and back to fullscreen fixed the camera issue, but now it doesn’t anymore. (I have tried only once so maybe this is somewhat random and in fact nothing changed compared to before, I’m not sure.)

Edit: this is on Gentoo with Xfce and the Xfwm 4.12 window manager.
Edit 2: in 1920×1200.
Edit 3: added kb shortcut issue.
Edit 4: tried a second time to go to windowed mode and back, and this time the camera was fixed…

Thanks for update. Working fine but you should try fix one anyoing issues with camera. Always camera is going down or up this is very anyoing.

But is simple trick to temporary fix it.
- Change to windowed mode - save, play (now works fine but in windowed mode). Now go to fullscreen mode, and camera still works fine until to reboot game :/

Tried the beta, I have a microsoft wired keyboard 600 that believes to be a joystick: now keyboard don't work at all, it does nothing, but at least the game starts without crashing.
Game freezes when quitting, but because keyboard don't work and the game locked it, I can't ALT-TAB and kill the Bound By Flame program.
Also FPS at low setting are under 20 fps, the game is completely unplayable. Under WINE I can play with everything maxed.
So: please fix your linux port. ;)

Thank for the update.
My PS3 pad now works and my keyboard defaults to WASD not that weird French voodoo.
(Sorry I am British, mocking the French is like a reflex :-p)

The only issue's left are

XDG spec as said above. (You will have to fudge that one)

Audio of dialog is messed up. (It's at different volume normalisation and skips lines)

Performance.
(It seems to be shadows, I can crank everything to max and it hums a long at 50-60fps, If I put shadows up my frame-rate tanks.)

vive la france

Also seeing this on Fedora 23 with Nvidia 361.18 on a GTX 660. It's unplayable

I've subscribed to this discussion, please acknowledge that you recognize this as a problem or I will be forced to ask for a refund. Thank you, and I'm looking forward to playing the game when we can get it to work!

Edit: I forgot to mention that I am also seeing the problem where when I move around the view points downward automatically (i.e. I can't freely look) then it crashes when something loads (the red icon in the top right) as per what I mentioned above.

Not looking good!

There are known problems with nvidia 361.18. Have you tried a stable (non beta) version instead? Like 355.11 or 358.16.
Xenith Feb 7, 2016 @ 5:24am
Sadly anything below 361 also causes more severe issues with other things. I'll give the latest stable nvidia version in RPMFusion a shot though just to report back if it's 361.18 specific
