This is the second older game I've tried playing on this PC that does this. Skyrim was the first, exact same problem, silent crash on launching the game. Other games, new and old, work fine. I did everything reasonably possible to fix it so I consider it a lost cause.
When trying to start the games, all just quit immediately, crash event only seen in event viewer.
In Windows go to App and Browser control, Exploit Protection, Program Settings, Add Program (choose file path). Browse to BoundByFlame.Exe and in the list find "Force randomization for images (Mandatory ASLR)", override the setting and set it to OFF (the global setting for mine was On).
