Female Voice Actor is Annoying

After trying to play this game several years ago, I'm thinking about giving it another shot. I prefer playing female characters, but I remember her being really annoying.

For some reason, the male voice actor reminded me of Ash from Army of Darkness. I saw some complaints about him too, but I didn't mind him.

Just curious if I'm the only one and if it gets tolerable later on. I guess if I play through the game with the male first, I can just skip the cutscenes with the female, but I'm really in the mood to play a female protagonist.
