So how P2W is this game?
I'm curious.

is not pay to win...you can find some big weapons but if you are good...those are the best enemys

It is pay to win.

You can buy armor which gives you a HUGE buff to damage mitigation and the higher "tier" armors have more slots to put "inserts" in which give you more health/regen and even MORE mitigation.

You don't "have" to buy these things with money, you can use in-game currency but it takes a really, really, really long time. You get put up against people whom can purchase these things and have them at your level. Which means, you will be at a disadvantage most of the time if you don't.

There are also weapons that you can ONLY buy with real money (the WAR bundles) which give you extra control and accuracy AND damage on guns. The P90 WAR and F2000 WAR are basically laser rifles that do ridiculous amounts of damage.

I have many hours in this game and love it. I have yet to spend a penny on it, though. Don't let anyone tell you it isn't P2W, because it is. It really is, they're full of ♥♥♥♥.

This is NOT "P2W"
It's Pay to Progress.

Small difference but a difference all the same.

It is not pay to win.

In order for the game to be classified as a pay to win game, there would have to be game changing items that cannot be obtained without spending money. As it stands, everything can be earned without spending a cent.

The bundles may contain a lot of stuff and no AC price tag, but every item can be bought at one point or another with in game credits.

The advantages are insane, yes, but there is a difference between slow progression and items being absolutely unobtainable to free players.

When did they implement progression?

This is not true.

Once you're past a certain level, you get thrown into any match, not one that's balanced at your level.

You get matched up on a 1v1 basis.

The way the system works is that it tries to balance every INDIVIDUAL player with ONE player on the other team. So you will have two Major I players, split so one is on each team. It then "tries" to make the other players in both teams around the same level, but if that fails, it just grabs anyone and resorts to the first balancing strategy.

That's why teams tend to have ranks all over the place.

Your ranking is determined by performance AND gear (for example, thanks to my gear, it's now impossible for me to go to Captain 5 or lower (or nearly, anyway)) ... so that much is true.

You arent serious. I can load up over 30 screenshots of one side having four and five star GENERALS and the other side with NONE.

So your 1v1 idea is WRONG. matchmaker gives NO CONCERN for who is on which side. It might grab 2x four star generals, but it is NOT designed to balance each team.

I can provide plenty of proof and have filed EIGHT support tickets over this, all IGNORED.

Cool, eh?

You are one of those "if a tree falls in the forest..." types, no?

Calm down -.o

I'm only relaying information I've read, and 80% or so of the matches I've looked at the results for have backed up this information. All systems are prone to anomalies, and I don't know the ACTUAL inner workings of the match making system, so for all I know, what I've read is a load of BS. But I haven't personally had enough of a reason to doubt that information yet.

Personally I'm more interested in why the tree falls in the first place, but that's beside the point, isn't it?

It's playable without spending, you will just be at a disadvantage.
I wouldn't call it Pay-2-Skip simply because you can "earn" the stuff on your own. I do fine without spending money, though I know I would do better if I threw $20 on the game, and bought some goodies.

I think this response sums it up pretty well...

It's sort of P2W. You can compete without in-game gold but, there will always be a round where you say to yourself "Man I wish I had tier 4 armor" or something along those lines. I've spent $45 and that's all I'm going to spend. To me, that is what the game is worth and at that price it's great value and a great game for said price. If you want to rage less and to enjoy the game more, just wait til the next gold promo weekend and grab the $30 option. That'll be enough to focus on a single class.

So have you gone past level 30 yet?

Major 2. Levels are approximately:
Assault - 12 or 13
Recon - 17 (VERY close to 18)
Support - 21 or 22

All great responses. It seems to me that it's trying to be Pay-2-Skip but it's going so far that it's ultimately Pay-2-Win, something Ubisoft has had problems with before (See Mighty Quest for Epic Loot).
Mada mada! 2014 年 5 月 24 日 上午 7:24
I never spend a single penny and i only haver tier 1 weapons with a little upgrade. I never had much problem and the only reason i got killed is when i didnt see them first, grenade, they have better position and when i not in cover and they are. Right now i major 1 :P
Mada mada! 2014 年 5 月 24 日 上午 7:26
At least they also base you on the gear for matchmaking :D
BujinStudent 2014 年 5 月 24 日 下午 3:16
Do you see many other games being complained about the P2W aspect as much as this one? No, and there's a reason for that.

I dunno, APB Reloaded is pretty bad with their P2W.
