- We dropped love points in PL2 (along with Sex$); so many people hated the grind.
- We're not adding a bunch of non-sexual side-characters; it's a 2D game, so each fully fledged character is... work. Better to spend that work on more sexy times with the girls.
- Repeatable sex will get added back in as you get more scenes with the girls; right now we're still just starting out. We made the choice not to bring along all the sex scenes from Paradise Lust 1, so most of the girls don't have that much content yet.
* Oh it's a shame you decided to drop the system completely. I liked it because it was a good indicator of if i made the right choices dialogue wise. Now I feel kinda... weird. Like, im not sure which choices to make lol.
I get dropping $ex tho. I used debug mode to give my mc infinite coins because with all the extra stuff you could buy near the end it got a bit... much. But you replaced it with normal money. I assume that will just remain passive and increase as mc "improves" (in quotes because imo building a bunch of tourist ♥♥♥♥ on an beautiful island hardly improves it.) the island?
* I can understand adding non sexual npcs adds to the workload but is it really that much? Not a callout or anything, genuinely curious. I think i said before on one of your love of magic boards, i have zero knowledge about how game development works so i love reading about that stuff.
I wonder because you wouldn't have to animate them much and there would be zero adult scenes. no date scenes, no paintings or anything like that. They would really just be there to improve the story, because if my daughter was stranded on an deserted island after she shipwrecked for (not sure how long they where on the island in canon but it took me almost a year and that was with cheating lol) ages, then she came back, did a 180 on her life and went back to said island to be in a harem with a guy she met on that island... yea i'd want to meet him lol. Although this might also be possible to tell instead of show, it feels like you have the writers who can pull that off.
* Oh i had no clue the game was that early in development. Well... I had one clue. lol. In PL1 i didn't start skipping timeblocks until 75% into the game. And then mostly only during the evenings when you can't harvest anything. So, i was quite surpirised to have felt the need to timeskip several times before i even had a done the date with the assistant (sorry horrific with names)
All in all i am really looking forward to watching what you folks do with this episode? chapter? Whatever. I can't wait to see it all unfold. If I can make 1 request tho, PLEASE put the buttons for the phone/map/trophies back where they where in the first game.
For a character in Paradise Lust 2 it's
- 2-3 days of concept sketches to set up the character
- ~2 weeks of 2D art to draw the character, the face, hair, in the basic poses
- 1 week for an animator to animate it. The animation in Paradise Lust 2 is a LOT more complex than that in Love of Magic, or even Paradise Lust 1.
3 weeks is about the same time we spend on putting together a sex-scene, so rather than meeting Olga's dad, I'd rather have sexy-times with Olga :)
Oh wow, that's a lot more time than I thought it'd take so I kinda get where you are coming from.
It's the same reason 3D animation replaced 2D animation in movies. 2D is so much more effort and time (though I find it's worth it when it's done well. 3D just doesn't have the timeless quality 2D does).
