Issue opening game
Whenever I open the game it puts me into the tutorial and marks all of my owned items as new as if I have never opened the game before, it's getting very tedious having to skip tutorial every time I open the game, does anyone know a fix for this?

Just to note, i have tried
- Clearing steam download cache
- uninstall/reinstall
- completing tutorial multiple times

Have you tried setting Hemingway.exe to run as administrator? It's in the Windows directory within the game's install directory. My assumption is that the game isn't being allowed to write save data to your %LocalAppData% folder

I've just tried this, but now luck. Just to make sure i have the right thing:
Steamapps>common>Smite2>Windows>Hemingway>binaries>Win64>Hemingway-win64-shipping
I've set this to always run as admin

Try setting it on the Hemingway.exe in the Windows folder:
Steamapps>common>Smite2>Windows>Hemingway.exe

Okay I've done that now, However since doing so when i try to open my game I'm getting the following error "EAC Login Failed: ConnectLoginNoEAS (0) Failed due to the platform OSS Giving and empty Auth token" :/

Well that's super interesting. I've seen several people run into that login issue and we've often tied it back to not running as admin. Alright revert that back to not running as admin, I guess.
Let's see if we can get info from your SMITE2Alpha save folder ... hit Windows+R, type in %LocalAppData%\SMITE2Alpha\Saved, then hit enter.
First thing to check is if you have a SaveGames folder and if you do, does it have a HWGameUserSettings.sav file in it? If the file exists, right click on it and select Properties and tell me what the Size is and what the Modified Date shows.

No problem, I have all of the above files yes. HWGameUserSettings.sav - Date Modified 20/01/2025 Size: 1.96KB(2.009 bytes) Size on disk 4.00KB (4.096 bytes)

Well, it looks like it's writing to the save file, but I would have expected it to be larger, as mine is 2.79KB. If you modify your Video settings in the game, do they reset upon relaunching the game?

It does reset my video setting. i've just opened the game, shifted to max everything. Then re-loaded and it's set back to high. However all of my controls settings and whatnot do save and don't reset

That is because they use 2 different save systems. One is local only (for things like video settings) and the other is stored on our servers so that no matter what machine you log in on, all of your preferences are loaded (such as keybinds).
So, let's see what happens if you just delete that HWGameUserSettings.sav file. You'll have to skip the tutorial one last time, but hopefully that'll be the last time.

I was really excited xD but unfortunately even after deleting and trying again it loads me into the tutorial again (And still resets my video settings just in case that info helps at all) Just to confirm I tried twice more not just the once

 Ugh! So, did it actually create a HWGameUserSettings.sav again?

It has not created a new one, so must be an issue saving?

Yes, exactly. I wonder if deleting the whole SMITE2Alpha folder would fix it. It's always possible for folder permissions to get messed up, which can prevent creating/updating files.

I'll try anything at this point, will delete the folder and try again and come back to you. Appreciate all the help with this Xienen!
