from a developer stand point can you give a mild reason as to why video game companies are losing online chats?
its a pretty disturbing trend.
fyi i grew up in the unfiltered internet so this change seems really weak and shows a degradation of peoples ability to communicate
Being able to actually talk to people after the game is a significant portion of what makes winning the game sweet.
Outside of that, it also becomes incrementally harder for people to make new friends in the game without it. Most of the time when you add someone new to play with, that is in the post-game lobby.
Removing that social element might keep a few people around for a while but will hurt the group-shaping of the game which is basically required to stick around longterm.
I will probably just not play the game unless this is fixed. It is a minor thing but such an important part of the experience.
