SMITE 2

I keep getting an error when trying to log into the game.
The following sentence appears at the bottom of the game:

EAC login failed: ConnectLoginNoEas(0) failed due to the platform OSS giving an empty auth token

--

Three friends tried to play together, but my friend who uses the same CPU and Windows version as me logged in fine, but I couldn't log in.
When I first started the game with DirectX 12, the "UE-Hemingway Crash Report" problem occurred, so I tried administrator mode and various other things to solve it, and I was able to run both DirectX 11 and 12. After that, I deleted the game and reinstalled it, and even after performing an integrity check, the problem went away. The problem is that when I ran the game after solving the problem for the first time, a phrase related to Easy Anti-Cheat (I don't remember) appeared in the lower right corner, and from then on, the EAC Login Failed problem started to appear.

I don't know why I keep getting bugs. I want to play the game, but unfortunately, I can't.

If I add my thoughts based on the information I found, the "EAS Login Failed ~" error message is said to be a problem that occurs when the ID of the corresponding app cannot be obtained from the steamappid.txt file, but I couldn't find a way to manually receive the corresponding token.

You're having the same issue as this player: https://steamcommunity.com/app/2437170/discussions/0/744882977527357219/#c744882977527365296

Running some Google searches gave me a handful of suggestions that you can try:
  • Verify the integrity of game files on SMITE 2: https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/0C48-FCBD-DA71-93EB
  • Check for any pending Windows Updates
  • Make sure you have an exception for the game's folder in your anti-virus
  • Try running the EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe in the game's directory and if that doesn't open up an installation window, you need to use system file checker to scan your computer, which can be done by opening up a command prompt and entering sfc /scannow then try running EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe again
  • Set Hemingway.exe to run as Admininstrator

These are all methods I tried before writing this post.

Just in case, I tried everything sequentially according to the answer, but of course it doesn't work properly.

To be exact, EOS_Setup still doesn't run, and when I open cmd with administrator rights and type sfc /scannow, it says that it can't find the integrity of the resource file.

Hrmm, okay, let's try something else. What happens if you open a command prompt window, change directory into the folder containing EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe (which will be something like
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\SMITE 2\Windows\EasyAntiCheat\
and run
EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup install 9058337600564509b2d83aac9eb8c396

Thank you for your time.
Since it is installed on the D drive, I changed the address to

cd D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SMITE 2\Windows\EasyAntiCheat

After that, I typed

EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup install 9058337600564509b2d83aac9eb8c396

but there was no response.
I ran cmd in administrator mode, and the game still runs through Easy Anti-Cheat, but when I try to log in within the game, I don't get the EAC token.
What I found out after playing for two days is that other games that use Easy Anti-Cheat suddenly became unplayable.
In the case of Fortnite and VR Chat, which I tried for experimentation, unlike Smite 2, Easy Anti-Cheat itself keeps saying "Waiting for game to run (the wording may be different because it is a translator)" and eventually fails to run, which is a completely different problem.
I feel like I messed something up.

Something definitely got messed up, but it's absolutely not your fault. The most common problem that people have with EAC is having multiple games that use various versions of it. Eventually a significant number of players end up running into issues like yours. I worked directly with a player via Steam chat for a couple days with no good results. Eventually he decided that he was just going to back up his files and reformat his computer to start fresh. After that, he installed SMITE 2 and everything worked. He then installed SMITE 1 and everything was still working there. Not sure how many other EAC games he installed after that, but he's been playing several hours a day for the past couple weeks with no issue.

I had this problem too, what I found out for me is that for some reason if you check one of these box in the compatibilty tab for Hemingway-Win64-Shipping.exe or Hemmingway.exe this error happens

Disable fullscreen optmizations (Probably causing this error too but I'm not 100% sure)
Run this program as administrator (Definetly causing this error, game works fine when I uncheck this)

I also tried messing with the compatibility mode and it works fine.

Not sure why this happens but it does, I even tried applying the same settings to start_protected_game.exe and EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe at one point but it also didn't work

Thank you for your advice, but I have already tried checking and unchecking the checkboxes. I have tried everything on the internet and it still doesn't work.

Srry for my english. Hey, I had all your problems but I have solved it 5 minutes ago. I opened Program Files (86)/steam/steamapps/common/smite 2/windows/hemingway/binaries/win64 right click on "Hemingway-win64-shipping" - Properties - Compatibility and unchecked "Run this program as administrator" and It worked. As I said, sorry for my english. I wish I help u and other people. GL

I’m copy-pasting my answer to another post. This fixed a lot of issues:

A few questions:

Is your Windows user Administrator?

Do you use a third party antivirus software instead of the built-in Windows Security Defender?

Add the Program Files (x86)\Steam folder to your antivirus exception list.

Rght-click on both the Steam.exe and the Hemingway executable > Properties > Compatibility > and check the “Run this program as Administrator” box.

Go to Windows Settings > Gaming > Game Mode > Graphics > Add an app (Browse) > C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SMITE 2\Windows\Hemingway.exe > Once added to the list, click on it and selected for High Performance.

Try those and let us know if it helped, good luck!

Did this ever get fixed? Is there a solution. My friend has been having this issue on this game since late 2024. It's now April 2025 and they still have the EAC login failure red txt after they update the game and run it again.
