You messed up. This is a complete failure.

Graphics — They're not better than in Smite 1. Just different. There's no noticeable improvement in detail or quality. It's simply a different style, not an upgrade.

Interface/UI — It's bad. And it’s not just because it's unfamiliar.
With all my gaming experience, I still can't figure out how to access certain parts of the menu — like the store, stats, or specific information. The UI is not intuitive at all. It feels clunky and confusing even for a veteran player.

And most importantly — matchmaking.
The chances of all 10 players being even remotely close in skill level are extremely low.
In 95% of matches, one team absolutely dominates the other. There's no real competition, no tension, no fun.
Is it really that hard to add a "skill-based" queue option?
Even if I had to wait 5–10 minutes for a match, I'd gladly do it to get a fair game.

wow didn't know a veteran feels so...i had never played smite 1 and installed smite 2 and tbh i loved it, although i mostly play with bots...i guess i'm missing a lot by not having smite 1...i'll go install it right away...thanks for the post good sir... <3
agreed , this game needs a lot of work. matchmaking balance is god awe full matches are so lopsided . i have 2k hours in smite 1 .i feel you .
Smite 2 deserves criticism but can you at least be coherent? Smite 1 graphics are the same as Smite 2 bro are you even playing the game? 5800 hours and yet you cant even open the store? "All of your gaming knowledge" but you cant push tab to see stats? Ui is clunky and confusing except there's an entire ui editor in the escape menu for you to adjust how you like. Matchmaking complaint is fine but everything else you have no idea what you're saying.

Graphics
In my opinion, the graphics are 5–7 years behind the times.
The level of detail in both the world and the characters is worse than in many mobile games!
( yes, games on smartphones LOL )
Meanwhile, my graphics card weighs as much as 15 of those smartphones.

Interface
Let’s say I just want to browse all available skins in the game.
But nope! I have to click on each god individually and then look through their skins one by one.
Why make something so basic so inconvenient?

6111 hours here and you have no idea about the game. You say it was a complete failure and you make stupid criticisms. You compare smite 2 (WHICH IS A BETA) with smite 1 which has years of development and updates.
I don't agree I think this game is better in almost every way compared to SMITE 1 and most of the people who think SMITE 1 is better are just butt hurt about their skins and 11 year old god pass not transferring over to a new game so they can get 2 decades of content for 30 bucks.

Just 5800 Hrs Bro...
Idk what problems about UI and graphics, i like it. But matchmaking for real make thinks that i'm playing capitulation simulator. Just in 9 from 10 games capitulation in 10-15mins or even faster. Almost every match in 10 mins already 20-0 or 0-20 and minus all towers for one of the team

Funny. I am from Smite 1. In fact the alpha/beta of it. I have only a bit over 3000 hours in it because I play a multitude of games. I personally love the new look, feel and play of Smite 2 compared to Smite 1. In fact, I do not bother with Smite 1 anymore at all. The menus to me are simple and easy. The only thing I am not a fan of so far, is the matchmaking. But then often I would get crap matchmaking in Smite 1 too. So it feels about the same in this regard.

This. Same here. I've been playing Smite since 2013. I'm so sick of the Smite 2 hate. The game needed these upgrades and it is sooooo much better for it. These people are just praying for the game to flop, when there is no other game quite like one the market,
I have 6k+ hrs so my opinion is more valid XD
Just look at Sobek's skin in smite2, way more detail. Stop smoking whatever you are smoking. Only valid criticism is matchmaking which is indeed not the best.

Guys its Still Beta, go out and pay 70 € for an overhyped Early Acess Game - u will get no better stuff
As much as graphical taste can be a matter of opinion, Smite 2 is basicaly non-pixelated Smite 1 with different lighting.
When You look at textures of Smite 1 and Smite 2, or god models for Sobek, Cupid or whatever and say that it is not an improvement, You are either blind, or trying to paint it in negative light on purpose.

UI got improved a lot, especialy with HUD edition change, a few months back it was bad, now it isn't that bad at all, I still prefer the layout of Smite 1, but I'd guess it is more of a thing with being used to it from playing it for thousands of hours, than a preference.
It can be improved, sure, but getting lost in a shop? Quite a large overstatement.
Not saying it is great, not saying it is bad. But lets not get biased.

Matchmaking is doo-doo, true. Mayyyybe it is better now, after changes, but we will never know with playerbase that probably is sitting at 13-20k after including both consoles and Epic.

It is beta after all, people may say it has been realased by now and that Is true, but as long as they shift balance, meta and improve on the game on weekly basis with massive changes being made very often, it is still not truly ''out'' of it.

Well another issue is tanks feel terrible in Smite 2 in most cases. Damage is insanely easier to apply, resist is easier to bypass, and ontop of the fact of the current god selection you kinda just get standard FotM picks.
