"there are no improvements" item actives?, god aspects?, jungle buff effects, no more physical and magical item limitations, "any god, any role" approach, better graphics and gameplay. have you played the game at all?
You are giving 2 years for smite 1 and 2 to shutdown? I think you're being too nice, this is going to happen in 1 year tops because they lost 50% of their player base therefore they lost a of their revenue and income, or they fire employees or shutdown the game.
one of those companies bought out runescape, but since jagex already listened to the playerbase they were forced to stay with the jagex approach, and then they made osrs.
tbh the only management company that ever did good was the one with runescape. osrs was a legendary move out of any game company. the first remake with a plus addition done via mmo. if Blizzard would of done a plus instead of trash barebones classic wow, it would of done good off rip. but the community missed the old nostalgic feel of classic wow. which i understand 100% back then it was amazing.. just like jet set radio future, back in 2005 it was the best game ever... but after downloading a emulator and playing jsrf i realized the controls/ mechanics were trash. great for 2005. but in 2025 they suck, and compared to BRC they suck.
why did i got off topic?? oooh yeah started with management companies that buy out dev studios and kill them. i think they're doing it purposely at this point. look at the company that bought out sony online or w/e it's called the and killed that one upcoming mmo that millions were stoked about. they ended up killing that game completely and made a stupid build your own house game out of the mmo, and then expected people to pay for sht.
why did i go off topic again?
simple, management companies are owned by the people who own stocks/shares. meaning those people who own stocks/shares can manipulate these companies. so they can force a game studio to make ridiculous moves killing that game/ studio. and 99.9% of people who own stocks/shares in these management companies know 0.1% of gaming or a game. but they're already billionaires usually, so the less than 50 million spent on the game company by the management company isn't much of a loss to these billionaire stock holders.
and that's how you manipulate a online game market for mmos, you need to have a few billionaires that own shares in every game, and then they kill off this/that game, and care about the revenue of this game.
reason you don't see many indie developers sell their studios like (stardew valley) and many more is, they're not a online game with a cash shop. and if they do sell out, it's to claim assets so they can put a copyright on it. the isles for instance bought a pvp dinosuar game just to claim the assets.
could be a management company tied to LoL that wanted to kill off smite, because smite made a decent share of money, and imho is better. but LoL makes dramatically more money, and is the king of mobas... so fuel to the king, kill the prince..
i hope the stock/share holders whole families fly over the Bermuda triangle.
smite 2 is only a money move.
smite 2 was actually one of the most asked things from community
hero siege use to be a roguelite based diablo game, the community wanted this and that changed for the game, making it more of a diablo game with a fraction of the roguelite elements it use to have. meaning the community ruined the game, hero siege was AMAZING before the (community) ruined it.
a gaming community isn't always a good thing when they have say. a lot of the runescape updates and additions the (community) wants are pretty whack imho.
They are a business and need to make money. Probably is the case that making a f2p game is just a bad idea full stop.
i had 20+ limited skins, every voice pack, and a smite account worth more than your steam game collection.
if you can't understand that, then you probably shouldn't even waste your mental capacity here.
Just like a person's worth isn't derived by how much food they've purchased and eaten.
Also f2p payer here (excluding the god pack).
I had every emote and voice pack, a bunch of limited, tier 4 and 4.5 skins and even some t5.
The amount of stuff you got for free through events and chests was actually substantial.
Some people being more reasonable with their spending habits doesn't put you above them.
And what is your account worth now? Just wanna know if your investment paid off.
POV: lil buddy angies because he was dumb enough to spend money on a free game yet is apparently intellectually superior.
the people crying about skins are all losers...pathetic losers. The game will shutdown because the balance is an absolute joke. rather than be creative 1/2 of the gods ults are just gigantic one shotting circles and every passive is something to do with building stacks.
If you don't enjoy the game, just move your butt elsewhere holy freaking Christ.
The immaturity, toxicity & negativity is baffling --- Just like your typical conquest-Chat when the match starts to go wrong.
When you already paid for the skins you shouldn't have to buy them again to have them, crazy
