Smite has always marketed itself as a game where gods, mythological figures, and legendary beings battle it out. However, with the release of Smite 2, it seems the developers are taking even greater creative liberties, adding figures like Aladdin and Mordred—who are neither gods nor even mythological deities. Given this increasing flexibility in the roster, I have a question:

If Smite includes figures from actively worshipped religions, such as Shiva, Ganesha, and Kukulkan, why do we never see Jesus, Buddha, or Satan/Lucifer?

Let’s break this down:

Consistency & Fairness – If Smite is willing to include Hindu deities (who are still widely revered by over a billion people today), why is Christianity or Islam off-limits? Figures like Jesus, Satan, or even archangels like Michael and Gabriel are just as mythologically significant as Hades, Odin, or Cthulhu.

Creative Liberties Already Exist – The argument that “Smite only includes mythological gods” has been debunked with Smite 2 adding figures like Aladdin and Mordred. If literary or historical figures are now fair game, then surely legendary religious icons should be too.

Double Standards in Sensitivity – If the concern is that depicting Jesus, Muhammad, or Buddha would offend people, then why is it acceptable to include Hindu, Celtic, and Mayan deities, which also have modern-day followers? Why is one religion’s icon considered “too sensitive” while another’s is seen as fair game for entertainment?

Demonic & Christian Lore Already Exists in Smite – Smite already features gods and beings that align with Christian mythology (e.g., Hades, Hel, and even demonic figures like Surtr). If devils, underworld rulers, and gods of death can be playable, why not Satan/Lucifer, who fits the same archetype?

Historical & Cultural Impact – Figures like Jesus and Lucifer have shaped global mythology just as much as Zeus, Odin, or Anubis. Their stories are deeply ingrained in world history and literature, making them relevant for a mythological battle game.

Now, to be clear, I understand why developers might avoid certain religious figures to prevent backlash. But at this point, Smite has already crossed that line with multiple faiths. So I ask: Where is the consistency? Either all major religious figures should be treated equally, or none should be included at all.

What do you think? Should Smite 2 explore these figures, or do the developers have a selective approach when choosing which religious icons are fair game?

*edit* To bring some valid discussion to the thread. What the hell is with the random booster packs for games I haven't played in like 5 years Steam? Why not give me a booster pack for something I've actively played recently. You'd think that would make more sense.
