Is matchmaking broken? I have never seen so many awful, awful players.

After 1400 hours in Smite on Steam and who knows how many before it hit Steam, I've seen a lot of bad players which is fine, but this is on a whole different level. I can't remember the last time I saw numbers like these. I'm used to seeing your 2-9, 1-7, etc. That's fine.

But EVERY game I'm in has more than one person going something like 1-17, 3-23, etc. Usually two people are a combined 4-30 when it's all done. They insta-deny any surrender like they are programmed bots. Are they real players? I feel like they can't be. I could literally be blind and play this and not die that many times.

I started taking screenshots just because I feel like it's so bad I must be dreaming. It has to be broken. It's like the matchmaking logic is set like "if lastgame = loss, pair with people who have lost 10x more games"

If youre playing casual then yes that happens a lot, cause theres no matchmaking for casual. Just play ranked, eventually youll climb and you should be good.

It's because new players like me are put against player like you with 1400 hours.
We just want to try to learn the game but it's not a fun experience

Sweet Zombie Jesus, it's almost like the game just released and has a influx of newbie players or something.

This is Smite 2. You start at the bottom again. Your smite 1 ranking and hours don't count. Claw your way back up. You'll move up to where you should be. Just play.

No one said you had to be "MLG Pro right of the bat." But if you are one of the people continually running into a 1v5 and having 15+ deaths then I'd ask why you are even playing it. Even at my absolute peak noobishness I can't imagine constantly doing that.

The matchmaking is flawed. Don't believe any of the gaslighters. Hi-Rez, in their usual fashion, made a very dumb decision to pair brand new players with experienced players. Doesn't matter if you're playing Casual Conquest. The game knows I'm a higher level, don't queue me with someone that just installed. It may not know that I'm experienced from Smite 1, but it definitely knows I've been playing Smite 2 based on my level. The worst part is that you'd think this only applies to Casual Matchmaking... NOPE. They have a non-existent pre-requisite of lvl 5 to enter which doesn't take long at all and now you have brand new players absolutely ruining every ranked match. It's easy to hate on the scrubs for being scrubs, but it's Hi-Rez's fault. Don't let them get way with frequently disrespecting their playerbase by sacrificing the player experience, all while alpha/beta testing their game for them.

I feel like Smite match making was bad but this is like an entirely new level of bad. Like, i am having a hard time believing these are actual people I am playing with/against.

Either ya'll trolling or just stupid. It's brand new game. everyone starts at the same place. what you did in Smite 1 doesn't matter with the ranking here. The hell is wrong with you people.

That's like me hopping over to Tekken 8 when it released and being pissed I'm not Tekken God Rank from 7.

Smite 1 is still there and active. No one has denied you anything. Game is 8 days out of release for open beta. And you're in here griping about matchmaking because you played 1k hours in a DIFFERENT game.

What do you expect? Honeslty the dev could hand you this game on a silver platter dripping with diamonds and so many of you would still complain like you've been done wrong personally.

It's, pathetically sad. And it's not just Smite 2. It's everything. A whole breed or generation of just, never enough.

The game has it's flaws, show me one that didn't the first week. The developers are in these forums, interacting and helping any way they can. They don't have to do that. And this is what they get over and over.

And then after months of ya'll just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ over all their NONREQUIRED kindness, they'll abandon the forums for discord or something they can regulate more easily to squash out the people that complain over RIDICULOUS stuff like this....

At which point those people will come here and make some sick twisted hate fetish bond of brotherhood or some crap and then all you'll see is "DEVS NEVER COME HERE THEY DON"T CARE ABOUT US CUZ THEY SUCK"

Meanwhile they were here day 1 actively listening. Just most ignore or don't appreciate it.

Back on subject. New game. New rankings. Everyoen's at 0 or what ever the ranking starts at. Never played ranked myself. If you're hot ♥♥♥♥ like you say, just play for a few days and you'll level out or elo out to what ever. right?

I understand its a new game but also it is kinda wild some of the stuff Im currently seeing. I dunno I guess some people are just that bad.... Already knew I needed to switch over to ranked but have been trying to hold off since I havent played original smite in like 8 years.

That also applies to LoL and DOTA 2 still.
People will waste each other time even instead of pushing to end the game they rather prolonged it by going back into farming and letting the minions do the bare minimum of destroying towers or the Nexus tickling down the HP

Yea, casual game modes are awful right now. i wish they would have figured out a way of the already existing SBMM from Smite 1 to carry over

So that people like me who have thousands of hours in smite 1 wouldn't get matched with (or against) people who are playing their first match ever.

In my very first smite2 arena game, I had 2 ppl running straight into the enemy lines like there was no tomorrow (0/15 2/17). Most ppl won't practise and go immediately to pvp. Hirez could make a bit more training mandatory, however this will probably turn loads of ppl off. Tbh, I am happy smite2 gets so much attention and I hope they will fix this along the way. A man can dream.
