my screen just stays black after the georgia logo
cerimi 17 ENE a las 2:17 a. m.
Hi guys I installed smite 2 and everytime I run it, it says to me: "Invalid executable path C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SMITE 2\\Hemingway\Binaries\Win64\Hemingway-Win-64-Shipping.exe.". I tracked the path of files and i do not have Hemingway-Win-64-Shipping.exe file. I tried do restart pc, uninstall install and nothing. Every time I install SMITE 2 this file does not exist. Any help would be much appreciated.

P.S. I had no problems running SMITE on this pc.

Thanks!

I've heard reports of this happening to several other players and they said leaving the black screen up for several minutes eventually got the game to start. This is because their machine was slowly preloading shaders either due to hardware limitations or because they didn't have an exception added to their anti-virus for the SMITE 2 game directory.

Several other players have run into this same issue and it was their anti-virus deleting the file. You just need to add an exception for the SMITE 2 game directory to your anti-virus.

I don't know how to proceed :( , I understand that updating the bios is complicated and risky if done incorrectly.
All major motherboard manufacturers have made it incredibly simple the update your BIOS, including Gigabyte. Hardest part is usually finding a USB drive that you can format as FAT32, but if Gigabyte is like MSI, I was able to just drop the BIOS file on my C drive.

I don't want to do anything stupid =/ , to simplify things a future update is planned to correct this?

We would absolutely love to, but we're unable to fix a hardware error using software, it's just not possible.

Ugh, I'm sorry you had to do something you weren't entirely comfortable with just to have it not actually fix the issue. Unfortunately, I don't have any other suggestions, as the BIOS update has fixed every other player I've talked to about this issue when they had a 12th, 13th, or 14th gen Intel.

Do you play other Unreal Engine 5 games on your machine without any issue? For example, I've seen a lot of SMITE 2 players also have issues with Marvel Rivals. Though, I did have a lengthy conversation with one SMITE 2 player having this issue who didn't have it with Marvel Rivals, so I guess that's not a 100% foolproof test. For the record, I finally convinced the player to upgrade their BIOS and SMITE 2 started working for them, too.

I only have this problem on smite2, and only since it went into beta, in alpha I had no problem, yes I play other unreal5 games (marvel rivals, ark ascended and others).

Ugh, that sounds exactly like every other player that just needed the BIOS update :-(

Any chance that you use Brave as your internet browser? I just had a player nail down SMITE 2 crashes being caused by having that browser open.

I had another player report this: I found that my Nvidia GeForce Experience App wouldn’t open up. When I would go to click on the Desktop Nvidia Shortcut I would get an error. I think that my Nvidia Container had been disabled within regedit and msservices for some reason. So I had to use Revo to uninstall everything Nvidia related, then just redownloaded Nvidia GeForce Experience.

I doubt this has anything to do with it, since you were able to play in the Alpha, but several players have run into launching and crashing issues caused by their anti-virus, so they added an exception to their AV for the whole SMITE 2 game folder.

I'm assuming you already tried the administrator stuff that Kantos posted earlier in this thread?

Doing some more Google searches, have you tried completely uninstalling Easy Anti Cheat?
  • Open a command prompt and change directory to the SMITE 2 EasyAntiCheat folder (for example: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\SMITE 2\Windows\EasyAntiCheat) and run this command: EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe qa-factory-reset
  • Then hit Windows+R, type in %AppData&\EasyAntiCheat, hit enter, and delete everything in that folder
  • Lastly, inside of C:\Program Files(x86) delete these folders if they exist: EasyAntiCheat and EasyAntiCheat_EOS

for this step nothing opens (even in administrator), I did the rest and it changes nothing :( still the crash

I am fresh out of ideas, I'm afraid. I have had a couple players now that got so fed up trying to figure out what's going wrong with their machine that they backed up all of their files, formatted their hard drive, and reinstalled Windows. Not saying you should have to do that, but I can't think of anything else to try.
