Frustrating stuttering on fresh windows installation
I know probably there has been many threads about performance in general for smite 2. I understand its an alpha and that it wont be optimised but I'm having terrible stuttering no even on lowest settings. It wouldn't such an issue if the fps are just low but all the time the game is running smooth 140fps (144hz monitor) and then when you engage into a fight the fps tanks and the result is basically as if you lagged. Throws all aiming off making it very unplayable.

Do other people experience the same issue, or is it something with my setup?
For all the people playing I've seen across youtube etc it always looks smooth, but I don't know their setups always. Doesn't appear to have these framedrops, frames might be lower than you'd expect but stable.

CPU AMD 3600
GPU RTX 3070
RAM 24GB DDR4 3200
MB MSI X570-A PRO

Game installed on m2 nvme along with windows. Literally just Smite 2, Steam, Marvel Rivals installed on fresh copy of windows. With latest Nvidia drivers.

Anyone with similar spec PC can comment about their experience?

I have same problem with similar setup RTX 3070, Ryzen 5 5600x. Game uses 50% of my GPU and 30-40% of CPU. In setup stage it's good smooth 140+ fps but once all minions spawn and heavy teamfight starts it tanks to 50-60 and stutters massively and stays at around 90-110 if nothing happening. I saw only like 2 streamers with flawless 150+ fps for others it drops in teamfight to 90 or worse too.

We appreciate you letting us know your experience. There are a number of optimizations the team is working on which we hope should improve overall performance. Obviously, we are encouraging folks to ensure their drivers are up to date, but it sounds like that is an unlikely concern for you. In the interim we'll have to ask your patience and continued feedback.

Same here. Same card RTX 3070. Does not make a difference what resolution or graphic settings. Team fight = frame drop.

I was casually strolling thru Reddit and saw this post about MSI Afterburner (but also with other monitoring softwares) causing microstutter:

Also, check my troubleshooting steps here just in case (except the Hemingway.exe as admin):

After doing quite a bit of testing with 2 PCs.

one 8700K GTX 1080 32GB of Ram on an nvme SSD

The other is 9800x3D RTX 5080 32 GB of ram and a much faster nvme

The issue has to do with certain abilities, I have noticed it mostly with Anubis' 3 and Vulkan's back fire. And DLSS. I believe they are separate issues and the biggest problem I've had with stuttering comes from DLSS.

That said, you can mitigate the worst of it it by turning off DLSS and using intel's super sampling (if you need it,) AMD still looks real bad, FSR needs an update from your end to the newer model.

With DLSS on (doesn't matter which quality setting) you'll get pretty nasty stuttering.

Benchmarking during online matchmaking shows that my average frame rate on the 1080 PC is 50-60 fps @ 1440p with 0.1% lows going down to 17FPS

The 5080 computer gets 0.1% lows down to 20FPS which is even more jarring because it's running at 220 average FPS.

DLAA and DLSS causes the ruler to get very buggy visually, most likely its applying to it as if its an game object even thus its should be counted as UI layer.
