On the other hand, oh how I do would enjoy for a chance to have Smite without all the overly silly skins and crossover skins and etc again even if for just a little while.
(But on the store page we can already see some of the sillier skins presented, so I guess I won't get my wish.)
If you played SMITE, your Divine Legacy is waiting for you in SMITE 2. You’ll have access to amazing cross-gen skins, badges and Legacy Gems after you link your SMITE account.
It sounds to me like they give us veterans players, access to a limited bundle of cosmetics (I guess the skins that have been updated to unreal engine). So it doesn't seem like we're going to keep the skins (at least not at launch)
−
Most SMITE 1 content will not directly transfer to SMITE 2, but SMITE players will be rewarded for their time, money, and achievements through two new systems: Legacy Gems, and Divine Legacy. In addition, new skins added to SMITE 1 in Year 11, along with some limited other cross-gen skins, will transfer between the games (see below for more).
Only Year 11 skins will progress to Smite 2
You will get the same amount of gems you bought/spend in Smite 1 as Legacy Gems in Smite 2
Legacy gems can only be used to pay for 50% of a skin price (so you gotta spend to use them up)
Based on hours spent on game (in matches) you will get Divine points, which you can spend on up to 11 skins in Smite 2
Some badges and all in Smite 2 for playing
Also, important vague wording they did, your Legacy Gems will be worth less as prices in Smite 2 will be different (higher), thus you wont have equal spending power as your gems in Smite 1, to get equal spending power you gotta own Founders Pack which will double your legacy gems, and that will give you equal spending which means your legacy gems not only wont be able to be directly spent but also will be worth 50% less than what you could get in Smite 1
would be cool if it'd transfer, but it's hi-rez
