Playercount is crazy
Smite 2 just having 2600 player while smite 1 having 1600-1700 is an absolute joke, they should encourage Smite 1 players to switch to Smite 2 now. If not, Smite 2 could be much closer to dying than we think. If not even its own community decides to help the game stay alive, there won't be anything to do

idk where are u from but here its 16:03 pm so i dont think thats the point men
most players are north america
Yup, EU playercount is MUCH lower than America. You cannot really find a balanced match 6AM-4PM GMT+1 and after it is a gamble.

Whenever there are 5k+ steam players on late evenings on EU sometimes it is much better, but outside of these hours it is tough to find a good match ^^

It is a bummer, because I get matches, where everyone is master. obsidian, diamond or plat and they do not know how to play the map.

I jungle mostly. When I make a play on DUO that would let us do gold fury at 6min - we kill both enemy duo laners, their mid is dead, enemy jungler on the solo lane jungle, I call an obvious gold fury.. they go for enemy teleport harpies invade instead and go back to the base, while on almost full HP telling me to shut up, as if I said something offensive :Owlcat_sad:.
First gold fury(and objective. not even naga before) in both teams at 22min.

It is the result of low player count on top of non-ideal matchmaking - bad players go much higher in rank than they should and You get ~silver level matches with people ~4k MMR.

Thats what happens when you torpedo all your games for a overwatch 2 tier sequal. also they might end of service the other games they made soon... hopefully this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of a moba goes with it.

It’s actually the opposite reason why Smite died. You can’t force the players to play Smite 2 over Smite 1 and they tried. People playing Smite 1 don’t want to play Smite 2, so by shutting it down, those players will just leave. Smite 1 had 20k players before Smite 2 and now both games combined don’t even hit half those numbers.

hi rez is cooked but i'll download this to see how bad it is
The sad thing is that with each new patch it seems the player count is still slowly dropping. There's no denying that Hi Rez really screwed up with Smite 2. I don't know why they thought re-making the game in UE5 but keeping it all fundamentally the same as Smite 1 would bring in new players. All it did was cost them their Smite 1 players.

If they thought Smite 1 was unsustainable in 2023 when they started working on Smite 2 when the game had over 20k players it really makes me question how long Smite 2 will be around.
Ahem.

DOOOOOOOOM!

Am I doing it right?

Also, 6,900 players in Smite 2 currently, compared to 2,500 players in Smite 1. Guess that kind of torpedos the OP's whole thread.

And let it die. It was created to deceive and after such treatment of fans of the 1st game and old employees it has no right to continue to exist.
