Sol or Morrigan?

I am new player to SMITE 2, grabbed the founders pack cuz it looked fun and didn't play the predecessor except for few hours in 2015. So far I seem to like the style of the two characters and decided to come here for some questions.

1. Which of these two is better?
2. Which one won't require a PHD to learn decently?
3. What lane do I go for with each?

Sol would be easier since shes like a hunter, but magical.. or was now that mages can build crits too.

Morrigan needs you to be more aggressive, aka requiring a PHD unlike Sol.
Sol as adc and rarely you can see her on mid and morrigan is mid and you can also very rarely see her on solo.

If Sol is ADC, I assume she goes bottom line like in League?

Adc and support both go to the longest lane on one side of the map. The other side of the map has shorter lane which is for solo.
