Either way, the number of new players won't change the overall attitude/atmosphere within the game. MOBAs are known for having elitist/toxic communities so expect that to be the status quo once the game is out of alpha. Your best bet is to play more casual modes within Smite. Anything other than Conquest or Joust shouldn't be too bad.
1) toxic
2) two-faced
3) for the actual friendly ones you have to stick with them like glue and organise meetups, not many can be bothered
4) MOBA ship sailed long ago
5) pros go to where the money is in regards to comp (it's not Smite which self-promotes its own players, new talent is laughed out the door)
6) pornbrained (note: they now actively promote furry degen and ♥♥♥♥ which is a turnoff)
And for those that just wanna play the game you can expect 20 essays in chat spoken to why your build is bad or some military historical essay
Me and a bunch of my friends really enjoyed the alpha, some even having it as their first moba experience, I haven't played a moba since dota 7, and I've been looking for something to scratch that itch, Smite seems much easier to get into compared to current dota even for a dota veteran.
I actually appreciate that everything is being reset, redone and reworked, and I hope that content release slows down and becomes better paced, I hate it when games get too bloated, sometimes, less is more.
I think Hi-Rez is handling things quite well, and most complaints are coming from a vocal minority. I just wish that the season passes won't require 100 hours over 25 days of grind to complete, that will require a minimum of 4 hours a day, and it will alienate us who can't afford to put that much time into it, and once a game starts to try to force me into putting time into it, it starts to feel like a chore and more like a job, and that's when I quit. So please don't make your season pass feel like a job
