Do you keep all the content you had from Smite 1 in Smite 2?
I wanted to ask, if you bought skins in Smite 1 and had the God pass, do you go into Smite 2 with the same skins unlocked and all the gods from Smite 1 unlocked still?

I think a major concern is if this is going to be a reset or if its like "You paid for all the chapter 1 gods and skins by backing Smite 1 in the long ago, now Smite 2 is going to have new gods and you have to unlock those separate"

Also I have a lot of skins that I enjoy, I don't think its right to have to buy them a second time if you can even buy some of the time limited ones...

God pass or unlocked gods do not transfer to smite 2, you need to buy the founders pack for that. Skins only transfer if they are a cross-gen skin which only came into existence this year. Any skin older than this year will not transfer

Some popular skins from smite 1 will be remade for Smite 2, these can be bought for free with legacy gems.

Welp then, I guess I'm not playing Smite anymore after the Smite servers go down. If they had let me keep the Gods I already unlocked and the skins I earned then I would be okay but they are doing an asset flip alla OW1->OW2 and expecting people to pay for their rosters again... I guess Avatar TLAB, TMNT, Transformers, and other collabs didn't pay the bills?

Its precisely because it isn't an asset flip that they don't port of all the content just like that. If they could why wouldn't they just fill up the store with all the skins righ away to sell to actual new players.

And its not like you have to pay for the roster, you can to unlock them in other moba's too. Those don't even give you the option to get them all in a conveniently priced bundle.

And after over 10 years and 20 years worth of tech upgrades in amounts to making an entirely new foundation for Smite it is not a big thing to ask.

But if one can't see the potential in its future i'd say just ignore it for a while and check back in later, the project has only just started.

Well it is reasonable if someone paid a sum of money, that if you are saying that you can "link your account" then you shouldn't have to spend MORE REAL MONEY to get what you already paid for. I paid you once, it's the EXACT SAME GAME, just with better graphics, but I am expected to give you money again, for what is basically an update? Yea, ok.

To be more specific, You do get crossgen skins instantly. HOWEVER - later on they will be implementing old skins and these will be availible to be purchased using legacy gems - a currency You get for free by linking accounts between smite 1 and smite 2 and amount of it is based on gems spent in smite 1. By buying founders, You get 2x the gems aside from new gods, 100 gems per level and other things. So You will be able to ''buy'' them for free.
In the meantime You can use these legacy gems as a substitute for 50% of the smite 2 gems cost for anything.

Things are like that and not othervise because it is NOT an asset flip. It is a whole new engine. They cannot move things from one engine to another. It doesn't work like that.
They have built the whole game from scratch and so is the case with any skins.
They cannot possibly port all of the skins from smite 1(imagine doing 11years worth of skins in a span of say - a year or two from scratch.) but will aparently port the most popular ones, after which You will be able to unlock them for legacy gems - so for free.

Well.. You don't have to. You can get it for free. Gods You can unlock with level ups. And its easy to get exp. You also get free gems for just linking that are based on the amount You spent in smite 1 - free gems or not. You just get 2x that amount for founders.
