So what is the change from smite to smite 2?
We know it gets a new engine and better graphics but what other changes are there? I ask because far as I know the bugs in smite 1 are known about but havent been fixed. Will the bugs be fixed before release? Like give us some insight as to why you chose to make smite 2 we know smite was dying for quite a bit of reasons and we know the reputation of hi rez studios is this really just a poor excuse of a cash grab to milk the dead product? Or is this an actual change for the better?

Its a full re-imagining, built from scratch. So any issues the original Smite had because of its tech should now be able to be resolved.

All the changes are a bit difficult to fully summarize, but this should be the fundamentally superior version to the original on all levels.

What you can do is dive into their youtube and FAQ's to get some better insight yourself they do a weekly log on Thursdays and regularly upload shorts as well. And eventually just give it a shot yourself on release, unless you feel convinced enough to buy a FP or sign up and get a free key.

So instead of fixing the bugs they can with the original and fix the issues they have such as scummy practices they chose to switch to a new coat of paint on a beat up truck and go there are no problems its a new coat of paint meanwhile the truck has a bad transmission.

This isn't a switch of the coat. This is a rebuild of the entire car. SMITE uses Unreal Engine 3 which was released in 2006. The engine itself is a cause for a lot of problems and limitations of the original game. Rebuilding in UE5 removes those limitations and allows for expansion of the game that simply wasn't possible with UE3. The change was needed and makes sense to do. However, will they pull it off successfully and actually enhance the game? That remains to be seen and Hirez doesn't exactly have the best track record. I'm in the wait and see group for this game.

Smite 2 is a solution to a problem that never existed.

its their way of getting more money from people buying all champions again cause cash grab hungry company had too many failed games and this one survived the longest.

They ditched UE3 for UE5 so limitations on engine going forward won't be an excuse to not do something. Naturally this means rebuilding the code from *semi* scratch. Cause you're asked to believe that a coding language was completely changed from two versions within the same archtype. ie. You obviously can't use any code from a program made in C in an updated program made in C++. It's like trying to update a program made in COBOL into Visual Basic... it just can't be ported man.

They are updating the god models, loin cloths will act more like cloth should when they move around. Not that anyone will really notice it when you're trying not too get ganked.

Skins will be higher resolution, but they'll still look like the gods you know.

Physical/Magical is being dumped for a completely new Strength/Intelligence gear system. Why anyone thinks this is new and not a basic rename is anyones guess. The gear availability however is opening up. You know that magical, I'm sorry intelligence, gear you really wanted on your strength tank? You'll be able to get it now. And be reported for not following the typical tank metas.

God abilities are getting a rework. Though literally every god on display has the exact same ability they used in one but at higher animation/graphical resolution but someone somewhere swears there's new abilities...

Maps are now faster to be rebuilt. On the user side of things this does nothing but for the devs it means they have more time off while they still claim it takes forever to make event maps. Don't worry your conquest, joust, arena and what not maps will still be as they were, the devs can just slap seasonal effects on them quicker. And they'll be higher resolution.

Did I miss anything? :steamhappy:

The build system has completely changed, you can feel how much difference there is between smite 1 and smite 2 just by playing it. Personally the fact that the gods don't have roles is something i don't like, also the fact that each character can build themselves as they want in my opinion breaks the game in all aspects, but i think it's something I have to get used to.

You don't just have to talk about the graphics, but the gameplay has changed. I'll give you an example what changes from overwatch 1 to overwatch 2 it's simple on Smite 1 we have roles on smite 2 they won't be there, on smite 2 you can build the same t2 item twice on smite 1 you can't do it, this is a big one huge change compared to before, you don't have to TAKE SMITE 2 as a graphic adaptation.

To say that it is better than Smite 1 at the moment, and as the basics of the game are, we it's bad af, many gods need to be revisited, the reworks are very, very unbalanced and some items are too strong. No relics, only 1 ward if you want to buy a 2 ward you need to buy an active item that allows you to place a 2° ward basically it's the support item from lol. It's so funny how smite is literally copying the items from lol tho lmao

Instead op picking things up like buffs, you know have to press an extra key to pick it up.

Genius.

Smite 2 is like smite except the graphics actually look worse

I'd think back to Smite 1 how that looked when they had similar time to cook and compare it like that. Took Smite till 2018 to look somewhat decent, and now Smite 2 is only slightly below that with not even a 1/6th of the same time to cook.
