Paint Skin Weights Problem
Hi guys,

i have a problem painting skin weights on my mesh.
I have a fully rigged Mesh and added some polys afterwards because it needed more details.
The problem is i can't paint the skin weights on the newly added vertices to the mesh.
I can paint skin weights on any other vertices of the mesh except the newly added ones.
Any help would be great, cause i can't figure out the problem since days.
Thx.

select the vertice that you want to add and use the hammer icon on them
this gives me following error:

// Error: line 0: Smooth skin failed. Unable to access the input shape or the skin is operating on a non-poly object. Smooth skin is currently supported for poly objects only. //

well im used to the old versions of maya. so this how i used to work : every time you add new vertices edges or alter the mesh in any way you need to first, detach the mesh from the model do the stuff you need(delete history, freeze transformations, this was important back then). and then bind the mesh to the rig again. doing so will make you loose your skin weights, but there are ways to prevent that in the normal maya. i cant tell if this will work here. you can save the weigts into maps and then they will be reapplied to the vertices again.
