What I recommend for fast success is Archer. I think I never lost a run with it.
Try to go out of your way to get XP up talents early, some dmg up also helps. The other common talents doesn't really matter, just avoid HP up if you can.
Try to get some rare talents early, again, the healing bounty is not really what you're looking for.
If a talent package is revealed, go for it asap, try to get a homing missile, or an orbital arrow package, you can just reroll each of the 3 one time if you don't see what you need.
I'll usually go for the loot package for more XP, but it doesn't help you much if you're sruggling.
After you get homing missiles or orbital arrows, it should be a fairly easy run. Just never stop getting XP up until around wave 15, so you can have a bunch of talents to spend at the last, hard waves.
If you want more advice, add me here on Steam, and I'm happy to talk about this awesome game if I have time.
In your current skill level, try to go for builds that break the game.
Do some challenges too, they are very good practice.
After 20 more hours of gameplay, you'll have no problem anymore.
I actually competed the mastery 25 first time for Archer with the worst possible talent packages 😅 (traps and some other weak one I don't remember)
If you keep playing, the game will become very easy.)
