game breaking light bug

im playing watch dogs on uplay (because i dont know if theres a way to put it on steam) but the beginning always has a horrible glitch where the lights take up the whole screen.

it happens in the hall when you exit the starting room. i have my graphics card driver updated and i keep messing around with the graphical settings but nothing changes.

Holy crap. Must be smoking that good ol' stuff. Give me some bro. xD Have you tried verifying cache? Nvidia or AMD? Do you have enhancer enabled? (Third party program)

amd how do i check 3rd party/enhancer program and how to verify cache?

and it seems that what causes that is some kind of unloaded chunk. because when i get close then it goes away. for example where there should be a wall, you see through it and it shows an extremely bringht light.its hard to win online matches when i cant see half of the time

I remember having something similar to that after 'mandess' digital trip (not exactly like that, more like very bright fog - draw distance was low and the screen was too bright). Restarting/quitting the trip helped.

if by cache you mean verifying the files then yes i have already done that. and for the worse mod. i like to mess with that but it started happening before i even looked into installing the mod. its been happening since the very start. i think it might have something to do with it not loading the textures

this is cery annoying beacuse i cant even tell whats going on during cutscenes. it literally takes up the entire screen

Maybe, but in my case it was messed up lighting and the only thing that was able to mess it up and then fix it was digital trip (reloading the save didn't work), so complete the 1st mission and try digital trip if it's available. I'd also reinstall video drivers restoring default settings but you already did this?..

played bit trip and now its nowhere near a bother as it was before. it still pops up but only for half a second. and i dont know if i have to play it everysingle time that i play it but atleast i know a fix for it. thanks

and the problem only happens at night. during the day it never shows up

it looks like the game is trying to load the map as if it was daylight

Whoa. It's too bright even for daylight and it's not what I had.
Idk, I'd try to delete and reinstall as much as possible: drivers, the game itself, savegames (Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\%some_numers%\741), turn off cloud sync in uplay so it won't download old saves again, maybe reinstall uplay too, idk what else... And if all fails, maybe you could just set game time to noon with a trainer.

well ill try reinstalling first. for the driver should i just reinstall the graphics card?

Yes, I think. And there should be clean install option (or whatever it's called) somewhere during installation.

how should i go about reinstalling the driver? should i uninstall then just reinstall? or is rolling it back going to work?

I'd unintall it 1st. The cleaner install will be, the better. You may also try to install different version of the driver after that (not the latest).
