Traced issues.

I can't seem to get tailed, and I can't tail friends, because their names are blacked out in tail in tail a friend, and attempting to connect to them is unavailable.

do you have mods installed?they might block your access to multiplayer.

Nope. I can request tailing targets and tail them, but that's all. I afk'd for a day in a car and no one tailed me.

it may be because of the server issue that a lot of people seem to be having, something about ubisoft connect being stupid when playing through steam. the fix that i have seen but not tried is to buy watchdogs through ubisoft, play it, (check steam watchdogs to see if it would work), refund it, then continue on your merry way. OR contact ubi support for something called a WD key? or something

I can't even get that far. I just get error message saying I can only tail and hack friends if they're online and playing Watch_Dogs

I had the same problem too, can't seem to tail friends but Co-op and race invite work fine.

for some reason i think Ubisoft has stopped Hack A friend and tail a friend in the game seem even the Ubisoft Connect Copy has the same issues with players running the same copy.

i think they have done this to stop players boosting the achievements seem before 2020 this was not a thing and now you have to have RNG on ur side to get tailed 5 times

its strange seem Tail a Friend and Hack a Friend still works on consoles but not on PC

i figured out very fast that this is NOT server Issues but a purposely done thing Ubisoft has done to Steam users seem the servers themselves will only allow Steam Users to play if you own a Ubisoft Connect Copy and have played it..

its not a bug or a server issue its a Purposely done thing and its only to Steam Users that this happens to btw.

what i am planning on doing is contacting Gabe of Valve about this seem it seems like a SCAM being ran by Ubisoft here to boost Sales of the games that require Online Achievements seem i bet Assassins Creed Unity and Far Cry has the same online requirements for Steam Users and this is NOT something Gabe takes lightly when Steam Users are being mistreated by a Company regardless how big they are on Steam.

Steam Users SHOULD NOT have to Own 2 copies of the same game in order to play online and Steam Users should not be having so many issues getting Online Achievements compared to other platforms/Marketplaces this is not only stupid but unreasonable.

WatchDogs and many other Ubisoft games that have just got Achievements should all work and have Online fully working on Steam regardless of anything or the Online Achievements SHOULD BE REMOVED if Ubisoft are incapable of having the Online fully working for Steam Users.

Yeah, i have the same problems. I can hack and race randomly but cant even get to the friends list in Hack a Friend. A Steam user that had no problems checked me in the in game list and there's just a blank space. I get his OLD username.

This sounds more and more like it was a poor port over from the old launcher. Wildlands also had weird problems. And they did not even remove the online error message from Farcry 3: Blood Dragon. Very sloppy work overall.

well, being a guy who had problems with Far Cry 4 MP connection and AC Black Flag too, I can say on those 2 games, I could only connect to specific people, so if you wanna try with the biggest number of people possible, you might find someone that somehow Ubi bad connection let you guys join one another.

BTW if anyone wanna try, add me as friend, we can see if you can tail me and viceversa, I'll help with the tailling achievement

I have that blank issue but could initiate tail a friend with an online friend also trying to get achievement. It helped if I relaunched last autosave to refresh and connedt through Ubisoft Connect.

Just a head's up, you need to be tailed 5 times without observing your tailer for anyone partnering up with friends. Just got Traced achievement from a session tonight.
