Should I buy Watch Dogs on Steam or Uplay?
Hi guys I've been thinking for a time now where exactly I should pre-purchase the game, and I can make a decision whether to pre-purchase it on Uplay or Steam? What are the cons and pros of both and what will be the best in general for now and the future games like this.
Thanks.
Bye.

Steam, uPlay has no preload.

Well if you buy on Steam you still have to run it through Uplay so might as well get it on Uplay and just bypass Steam.

As DDD mentioned, uPoop doesn't support preload whatsoever. If you want to preload it, consider to get it on steam. But using uPoop over steam sucks, so I choose uPoop. Also, you can get NVIDIA promo code of watch dogs for a lower price, so why not.

This is about as clever as saying PSGAY or XBUMS. Just call it Uplay.

Purchase uPlay version from GMG for a much lower price, $40 for standard edition and $48 for deluxe edition

I have some games on so called uPlay but most of features make it uPoop. Lacking of features like pre load, download control, intergrated community into client, DLC info is a huge problem. Poorly designed update function for games like splintercell blacklist is another issue. No system tray is a joke. At last, uPlay has existed for 5 years as a game launcher, 2 years as a client. And they still can't get things right. Lmao, this is why I call it uPoop. Playing games with uPlay is like using poop.

Uplay also won't auto-patch. You have to go into the game directory and execute the auto-patch program file. Sorry just had to throw that useless tidbit in.

Wrong. Steam has preload, always had.
Steam DDE has the Playstation exclusive content, Uplay does not.

The Digital Deluxe Edition is the same for both Uplay and Steam.
Although the picture shows it, as the description does not catagorically state the extra 60minutes or White hack pack I'd not chance it

I pre-ordered mine from a store close to me that gives bonus coupons whenever you buy there, with my coupons applied the game cost me $10.70 so I guess that's alright. I also bought the wife a PS3 and GTAV there, that cost $32.00 after I applied my coupons.

oh, the store? it's "Best Buy".

While that may be true with a lot of games UBISOFT doesn't have a preload of this game at all.
So explain how Steam is going to get a preload of something UBISOFT didn't make or allow..?

Lemme explain how. It is not about being allowed or being made. Steam and uplay work in different ways. Developers send game info to Valve so they can create game entry on steam server. And no matter who develops the game or no matter what game they make, they HAVE to send the game data to Valve days or even months earlier to let them store the data on the server as well in order to make sure it can be unlocked and be downloaded on the release day.
So Ubisoft has to do this as well. Valve can get Ubi games days earlier. And they can seperate the game leaving the most part of game for people to pre load. And if Ubi allows Valve or they have agreement on this. Steam certainly can have preload option for people who pre ordered the game. This is how steam works.
uplay is another thing. Since preload allows people to download part of compiled game data, there is a chance that hackers could decompile the data and start to crack. So, maybe this is why Ubisoft doesn't allow preload on uplay. But games are already on their servers. Ubi just doens't like to do this.
That is why people who bought Ubi games like AC4, AC3, Splintercell blacklist on steam could play them as soon as games were released, but people who got them on uplay can only started to download as soon as they were rleased.
