Upon installing 14.6 my GPU activity never falls below 98% (even when not running ANYTHING) and temps are steadily climbing to 80c. So yeah, screw this driver.
Not a boost, a MASSIVE boost. It was a slideshow before disabling the audio drivers.
Obviously this isn't a fix.... Can't play without sound....but for smarter people it might be a way to figure out how to do a real fix.
Sounds to me like you didn't get the steam version!
I'm not sure what that has to do with my drivers screwing up. In any case I figured eventually that it's not the driver at fault. I had a bitcoin miner trojan on my system...
Also the bitcoin trojan was in my skype program_data. Not sure how it got there though. Also I'm not too interested in pirating games. I bought over 500 games on Steam and I have two titles that I have specifically on Uplay, Blacklist being one of them.
I don't need someone with a steam level 0 talking to ME about piracy.
Understandable, mining trojans are everywhere now. But I seriously have no clue how my skype got one :P
Only had the problem after I updated my gpu driver, so I'm totally not sure how.
just now tried this. went from 14 up to 50fps just from this alone. Wow, didn't expect that at all. I hope the patch will resolve this.
If you don't have a sound card, you might be SOL on in-game sound until a patch comes out. Perhaps on-board sound could be used instead? Not sure. I have a sound card, so maybe someone with this problem can see if they can get on-board sound to work while nVidia sound drivers are disabled.
