Its not fair. Its not right. But the good will of the big publishers isn't going to stop it. So the only thing that will, is gamers who no longer pre-order games.
I mean seriously, you can't PLAY the game before release day. So why BUY the game before release day? Especially on a digital distribution platform. Its not like they're going to run out of copies to sell you.
Though I and many more people like you have been saying this for YEARS. The problem is the impatience of the consumer. I, like others, did not pre-order and have not bought the game. I will not buy into blatant hype.
And you know what? I did all that on a lunch break from work. Which means I was able to buy and download the game when I got home, and by the time I finished taking care of pets and some household chores, I was able to play at the same I would have had I pre-ordered.
Its really not hard. And in this case, not preordering Watch Dogs way back during the early saved me $60 I can spend on other things. Prefertably some of which work.
