Online Contracts

So how do i get out of this screen oh wait i can't can even press esacpe or the middle mouse.

yeah and I spent 5 minutes to even find the request button with not such luck :( isn't this the multiplayer option? Why is this single player game making me play multiplayer if I don't want to. GTA and Watch_dogs clearly are single players why are they even inventing multiplayer (now hate me on that).

multiplayer stuff is on the map screen, press RB/LB on xbox controller, dont know what the PC equivalent is though.

Also: you don't need to actually start a match, you can stop looking and the story will go on.

Alright thanks for the info Trukk. Though there is clearly a bug in PC you can't close the window. You can go back click online hacking, then see a window open up giving more info. I can go back to the online apps view by esc, but you can't leave the app at all. It says middle map goes back to main map, but it doesn't you're stuck on that particular app screen (forever and ever till the end of time).

I don't think its a bug, just poorly designed. You have to request a contract, but then you can hold backspace to cancel out of it. When I did that mission, I actually wanted to hack someone and the search timed out. I just got "Huh, nothing at the moment. I'll have to check back later" and continued single play.

Oh okay, so where is the request button? I click "Online hacking" then window pops up, but couln't find a way to request a contract. If it is done automatically I waited for 5 minutes and nothing?

EDIT: I also tried to bash all my keyboard for a button to do something request like or proceed whatever and was only able to get two screen shots :(

The purple icons around the map are the contracts. You have to mouse over them and left click them to do it. The Hacking one is in the lower right and it will bring up a menu with two purple icons. Top one is to request a contract, bottom one is for leaderboards.

Yeah I did click them and selected that Online hacking. Window pops up giving more info about contracts, but nothing happened then. I waited and waited nothing happens. No button gave me a contract, just stared screen hopeless. So apparently after clicking online hacking (purple button) I should've started a contract ay?

It is a bad UI. After selecting Online Hacking, there will be two more purple icons. One of them is to request a target. I was stuck on the screen for a few minutes as well because I thought the purple icons were the same ones from the previous screen.

Aniketos thanks for clarification, I have to try it back home! Though it's still a very bad design as you can't really exit. Maybe because this is a mission you have to go through it.

Ya you have to pick a mission around there its tricky:/ but all but done but still should be ESC just in case.

Thanks guys. I just figured it out. You click online hacking, some info appears on the right, then from there you have to click again the purple icon on the map. You wait sometime and you get into someone else's game to hack him. Holding Backspace you can just quit. Its kinda fun for me this option, though i spent over 5 mins to figure it out!

but the real question is, how to prevent the game for making you the target. I hate how multiplayer is forced.

you can reject the request by pressing backspace

Oh okay thanks dBatz. I got targeted and didn't know I can prevent it. I shot the poor guy dead with an assault rifle. Didn't like the multiplayer in my face thingy though.
