*SOLUTION* Game Doesn't Start *SOLUTION*
Hello fellow trouble-shooters, [*** For people who start the game, and nothing comes up****]
I am here to inform you of a solution to those who cannot actually start the 'Watch Dogs' game through Steam and Uplay. At first, my problem consisted of this; Getting the game, downloading it, installing it, and then making my way into Uplay. When in Uplay, I entered my code and it was redeemed successfully; although I couldn't actually start the game... Nothing popped up.

*Before you start, make sure you have manually downloaded Uplay and have the necessary requirements to actually download/redeem your game. Also, create a backup of any files you think should be protected*

So, here is the simpl-ish solution:
1. Click on this link, and follow the instructions: http://www.bitdefender.com/support/how-to-solve-error-message-%22the-application-was-unable-to-start-correctly-(0x000007b)-click-ok-to-close-the-application%22-1106.html

2. If, when downloading the dll files you extract them, and an error pops up... you are going to have to download each dll file manually, which is very simple. Just go to http://www.dll-files.com/ and enter the dll name, then download the zip file.
--> You may not have to restart your computer in SAFE mode <--

3. After you have completed all those steps on that website, here are the simple instructions on actually starting the game; (in Uplay)
- Go to Uplay settings (General)
- Un-tick 'Enable in-game overlay for supported games'
This will stop the interruption with the game, but you have to do this when you start the game;
- When clicking 'play', you will have to exit fullscreen mode, and watch the intro in the 'windowed mode'. Once the cutscenes are finished, you should be able to play the game without any problems.

I hope this helps, as it has helped more than 3 people I know... so far. If you have any questions, feel free to post them below, and I will attempt to help you out.
If this does not work, there is obviously either something else wrong with your computer/game (e.g drivers etc), or you did not follow the instructions on both the website, and this post correctly.

Have fun,
Tinytombomb

Lubosyugi's version:
I downloaded this dll: http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?xinput1_3 and everything worked perfectly. Even my Wolfenstein. :) The process is the same, just copy this dll to your System32 folder.

Ain't bullet proof. So far I have this error on 2 games. This and the Hangar of Star Citizen. Already tried it back when hangar came out and tried it minutes ago. Sadly it just won't do it for me.

I have 8 years as a PC tech and my PC is way over the minimum settings. I7 2700k, gtx560ti, 8gb ram. This isn't on my end.

Well, I have a laptop that I wouldn't consider too 'techy', and I am still able to run it on low settings. Not sure what this problem is, but I'm sure it will be looked into. What have you tried?
Froztiez May 27, 2014 @ 6:44am
Wow, thanks it really helped by diabling the overlay, but this game heavily relies (At least with multiplayer) on the in-game overlay, so is there a way to fix it?
Tinytombomb May 27, 2014 @ 6:47am
Not entirely sure if there is a way to fix it... maybe in the future? If you want to take a risk, then test adding the overlay. If that doesn't work, then you're going to have to stick with it being off.
Have fun by the way

Did you try my solution?

Tried this, did it, still the same issues. When I click on play, nothing shows up. Uplay doesn't even start and I always have to open it manually. I tried everything. Please help....

Try re-installing Uplay. Get the correct manual version. Then add Watch Dogs key to Uplay, and play from there. Make sure to follow either my steps or Lubosyugi's steps.

Yes; My method will only work for those with a similar problem to mine. I've fixed mine, and I've been playing Watch Dogs on my laptop. It runs smoothly, with barely any problems (except for the occasional area loading etc).
If any other people have different problems, and are not finding any solutions, then search Google until you find it, or seek help; it will work eventually.
