Play without uPlay running?
They had said you would only need to launch uPlay once to register, but the game seems to insist on it running at all times. Anyone have any solution to this?

This is what I'm wondering. Steam doesn't track me playing it.

Yeah i remember them saying it would not need to be "ALWAYS ON"

If its like Far Cry 3. Then yes, you will need Uplay regardless to run the game.

You can close uplay after you launch the game through it. That's what they meant. Kind of vague regarding the launcher, but that's how it works for all ubi games.

It screams that it will break things if I close it while the game is running. Best I can come up with is offline mode.

Does it matter? It's in the back ground doing what? Installing viruses? I don't see the problem.

Turn off the Ubi overlay though? Otherwise thats 2 overlays running. Do they affect performance.

I like my games without adds for other games. If you like ads, by all means keep uPlay running.

I#ve never had UPlay give me an ad for ANYTHING in ANY game, and i've played a lot of UPlay games. You get the pop ups from the launcher, which are no different that the pop ups you get from steam

I don't mind the Uplay thing on the background. The thing that doesn't make me happy is having STEAM, ORIGIN and UPLAY all on at the same time and downloading updates inthe middle or a multiplayer match and giving me 950 ping. Before, Steam could just stop all dls if I started a game. Now I have to keep it off so I don't have to go worrying about background dls while playing Titanfall in Origin or Watchdogs in Uplay

Just change it in the settings. You can turn of downloading while gaming in the settings > downloads section. Just untick the box labled download during gameplay

You didn't get my point. Unless I'm wrong, Steam won't detect if I'm playing TITANFALL in ORIGIN. same as Origin won't detect if I play on Steam.

it will if you add the game to steam as an external game. But thats the problem with having multiple platforms, only launch the one you need to use. If you're playing a steam game close origin and visa versa
