Does 0.3 GHz make a (big) difference?
Okay, so as you can probably guess from the title, my processor is 0.3 GHz away from the RECOMMENDED sysrecs. I scanned it with NVidia's compatibility tool and it's good to run Watch Dogs. All of my PC specs are above the recommended recs except the processor. The recommended GHz are 3.5 GHz. Mine is i-5 with 3.2 GHz. Does it relly make a big difference or not? I want to be able to run it on High or at least on Medium. Thank you in advance.

Nah dude as long as you got a decent processor and the clock speed isnt way below average it will be completly fine :) 0.3Ghz wont make a big difference if any.

Clock speed isn't everything about a CPU, so you shouln't measure your expectations only by looking to it.

What exactly is your CPU ? Just curious :)

Damn, man, i don't remember. I'll ask my dad when he comes back. Maybe he does.

The 0.3 GHz really shouldn't make a difference. Assuming your i5 is a quad core you should be fine to run the game. Honestly I'd be more worried about my GPU than CPU if you have a quad core i5 (granted I don't know what GPU you have).

You could always overclock your CPU if you wanted to as well. Most CPUs will overclock a few GHz without any trouble, but it can potentially introduce instability (BSODs etc...) in your system.

Also, if you want to know what CPU you have: click start, type dxdiag and press enter. Your CPU will be listed under processor.

Well I5's are great. you should be good to go :)

A little tip: go to cpuboss.com and compare your (Intel?) CPU with an Intel Core i7 3770K, from the recommended settings. This may give you a better idea, but I think you won't have problems running the game on high, it depends on your GPU too.

Ive got an i5 4670 k o/c to 4.0 gig 8 gigs ram gtx 670 ,now when i ran the can irunthis it said my CPU was the bottleneck and everthing else was fine lol .
Now with some tweaking most can run at ultra ,but we wont know till we get the game .
Also most of us have custom built pc that we build ourselves with qauality components so we.`re defo be ok .

But as above dont panick and wait till it comes out ,also because of no preload which sucks im hoping that it`ll be on torrents sights early so i can download it and put in the proper directory then just let it update itself when the game is relased .
Yeah i know your gonna say im bad or and idiot for doing this but been doing it for years and it saves a hell of a lot of time if no preload is happening .

Yeah, mine pc is custom made, too. Last year's birthday present.

Ok, if anyone's still gonna read this, my processor is i5-3470.

300mhz is a mere speck of dust. Even if you OC'd and gained that extra 300mhz, you wont see any improvement.
The spec's have to be drawn somewhere and Ubi just chose 3.5ghz, although could run just as well on 3.2ghz or even 3ghz. These days core speed means alot less than it did in the past.

Recommended specs for this game are a little confusing.
It calls for a "Eight core - Intel Core i7-3770 @ 3.5GHz CPU" which is strange as that chipset has 4 cores (but 8 threads). Your i5-3470 is said to have 4 cores and 4 threads (at 3.2GHz with the potential for turbo up to 3.6GHz) which to be honest should be perfectly fine for this game paired with other capable hardware. I believe the recommended specs are for those looking to run at high to ultra settings.

The guy/gal from Ubi who posted the specs is obviously a rookie as they have failed to differentiate between cores and threads. Rest assured that what they mean is "a 8 threaded or cored CPU"
As im sure everyone knows that I7's are HT so while only have 4 cores they have 8 threads due to HT.

Bus Speed is usually the most important. Most core processors have decently good bus speeds so an i-3 would still play this.

Thanks guys. Load off my back! :)
