- Ubisoft Support
Sadly there seems to be no way of getting it since multiplayer doesn't work. Support just told me a couple of days ago that there's no ETA with regards to fixing the problem. No ETA means they won't fix it and to be honest, they don't care either. They only care about Watch Dogs Legion currently.
Why would a multi billion dollar company fix it anyway since the average player count is roughly 500-1000 people? Fixing that requires time (which they don't want to use on an old game,) and money (which they don't want to spend at all.) I was led to believe that multiplayer was still up and running, since their own website has a server status for Watch Dogs that says multiplayer is currently working.
I opened a ticket with support back in early November thinking that maybe they might be able to solve the problem. I sent a bunch of screenshots and files across, like my forwarded ports, my msinfo file, my IP address, even a traceroute to the Ubisoft support website. Then after a long month of going back and fourth, they just told me that the servers didn't work.
They could have told me right from the very beginning, but they didn't. It was a waste of my time honestly. All I can say is don't go to support, they'll just ask you the same things they asked me.
I am no longer going to ask UBISOFT why I cannot connect to the server.
They just want to waste my time and want me to stop asking.
They always ask me to close the case.
They always want me to trust them to send a letter to the European headquarters.
Then they would never respond to me.
It was because someone in accounting realised that there weren't many people playing online anymore, and that they were losing money keeping the servers on. Because of that, Ubisoft decided that there was no reason to have the servers on. They should have at least put a note on Steam or put an announcement out when they were going to permanently turn the servers off. In my opinion, you don't just turn the servers off and not tell your players. It's disgusting honestly.
Multiplayer is still working fine as i said, the real problem is complete edition which is simply broken, if you buy complete edition there's a big chance multiplayer will NOT WORK because ubisoft screwed something up and it doesn't register you as someone being able to go online, they can however fix this now, after few users who investigated this by going deep in the game code discovered a fix and reported it in a ticket
Essentially you're missing access to multiplayer for this game on your ubisoft connect account, and ubi support can fix it if you ask them
If it's simply an activation problem, then maybe I might reopen the ticket again. Perhaps they might waste my time again like they did last time, and say that it can't be fixed.
