Can't rebind keyboard controls?

How have they not patched this?
As it seems, it's literally impossible to customize the controls in-game. The game will always give the error message ''some actions are unmapped'', even after I've rebinded all the keys. The only way to fix this seems to be tricking the game to save then quitting by alt+f4.


I don't know how no one else has raised this big issue. Or am I the only one in the entire world playing this game with KB+M and trying to customize the controls here?

I've just started playing this (after WD2), and I'm having same problem. I change all the keys to what I want and they are all mapped, but keep getting that same stupid message. How do you trick it to save. I'm trying to set up a G13 gamepad, I'm hoping the software will over ride this. Maybe it is something they learnt from, as I was impressed at how easy WD2 was to set up. Also it keeps starting in windowed mode, even though I've changed it.

pretty alt+enter to change from windowed to fullscreen.
Games will usually open windowed if you run it alongside opening another program at once. To do thes saving trick, just click OK when the game tells you keys are unmapped. You'll be returned to the key binding screen but the game will save, that's when you force quit.
Otherwise if you choose to return to main menu, the key bindings will all reset to default.

Seems like this bug has to do with some missing DLCs. I notice extra blank spaces in the key bindings for vehicles section. So if people played this game early at release, maybe they wouldnt have encountered the same bug.

I have the same problem. I just bought the game and i cannot bind the keys the way i want to.

I have the same problem. I just bought the game and i cannot bind the keys the way i want to.

I just rebound Focus from Ctrl to one of my mouse buttons, because I was tired of trying to press Ctrl for it. I added it as an Alt setting, instead of the primary... if that makes a difference. Maybe leave the defaults and remap the ones you want to change...? Not sure what would happen, however, if you tried to change a setting that has a default to another default though.. I'm afraid to test it.

You weren't trying to rebind one of the "unbindable" keys, were you? There's a list here: https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Watch_Dogs#Essential_improvements

The BackSpace, Enter, and the Page Down/Page Up keys are off limits.
