MM6 won't start after Windows 10 upgrade

Deleted and reinstalled Might and Magic 6 a few times and it still won't start. Says it can't load files and to reinstall. Have played a lot of hours. Hope there is a fix for this.

Runs in 8.1 compatibility. Haven't done it long enough to see if there are other probs.

I had the same issue and in the background I had some kind of draw error caused by the program not being able to change the resolution. I got it working by running the program as Administrator. In your library, right click on Might & Magic VI and click Properties. Then click Browse Local Files. When the directory opens up, right click MM6.exe, click Run as Administrator. Click Yes. The game should start normally. Check your turning setting once you are in the game. Mine was set to 16x and I had to change it to smooth.

Thanks. Removed Windows 10. Had other problems with it. Reformatted and reinstalled 8.1.
This system loads 8.1, including account screen, in less than 10 seconds. 10 took waaay longer than that. Started MM6 with a different team--no hackers and slashers. More funn in my oinion. Windows 10 will have lots of fixes. I can wait. Thanks again.

I almost downloaded windows 10 but thankfully remembered to check my games and decided against it when all of them were only compatible with windows 7 or 8.. Like the poster above said, ill wait for the updates.

I am using Windows 10 Pro (64 bit) and play in compatible (XP SP2 mode) almost without problem. But there is a nasty bug in this game for all Windows from version 7 and newer. That problem is: Tha game "freezes" and you have to restart the game. So you MUST save the game alot, since you never know what time the game freeze. This also happend in Windows 7, Win 8.1) even if you use 32 bit OS.

Finished MM6 with 8.1 with no other problems. Thanks. Just about done with Dark Souls. No problems with this either. No rush for Windows 10.

sounds more like he had administrator issue with hes old windows and they he migrated to win10 the administrators rights error follow him there.

i see many complains over win10 with many steam games, but most of them all have amd graphic card.and amd has huge problem with dx11 drivers many have switch back to dx9 if game has that option and then game work again so its a amd issue in many games

I don't have any issues with it on my Windows 10 machine or my Windows 7. I think you may just need to updae either your directx or your graphics drivers. Last ditch effort would be to try running it in compatibility mode but it's best to try updating stuff first.

I have the same problem. I play with it on win 10, but after the new build the game won't run...

I had the same issue but then installed the Greyface patch from here https://sites.google.com/site/sergroj/mm, works fine now!
