Trackmania 2 for free?

i am bit confused about which Trackmania 2 games are for free. So we have:

Trackmania 2
Canyon
Stadium
Valley

Which ones do i need to buy to play them in multiplayer?

Trackmania² was the initial designation for the newer versions of the Trackmania game, with the titles Canyon, Stadium and Valley. There is also a special "Trackmania²" title, which allows to have servers that mix maps of the three other titles. Attention: this does not work with Steam, only with the standalone client, and as TotalBarracuda already wrote, you need to purchase all 3 titles.
Purchase you can do in Steam, if you take care to use always the same Maniaplanet account for the automatic key registration.
Afterwards you can go to the Maniaplanet player profile page and download the standalone game client, and then after installation you can also use the combined title.
