AutoCannon VS M6 GMC

am I the only one who stopped using auto-cannons on vehicles in favor of M6 GMC?
it has better armor penetration, more damage per burst (granted all shots hit), and now, it has better range (and no minimum).

I don't see a reason to use autocannon at the moment on vehicles, given the choice.

also, does the M6 exist in squad weapon variant? ive never seen one

There is a tripod variant and it is my go to weapon for Tech.

that's one of themost OP weapon in the game. If you get that early with Tek it thrashes everything.

Autocannons on vehicles were only good at the release when used in dual link on the medium walker. They nerfed them even more i think.
The heavy machinegun is amazing, especially op on tech with the tripod version.
Achileas with sensors, run skill and a heavy machingun on a small walker can defeat the whole map if resupplied.
I used jane with autocannon to farm bugs and then i kept it for all targets but in this patch she will also get a m6

Yeah, they are worse than any other weapon system now. Some youtubers played with medium walkers and dual linked autocannons and it was geting too popular

Still using one in a new game on an APC, it's okayish now, don't yet have a med walker..

They still work perfectly fine, I still prefer them over dual HMGs. Achillieas or Rewa can still kill 3 enemies a turn with them, it's just no longer guaranteed.

Yeah only their range got nerfed, so twin-linked ACs on med. walkers should still slap just as hard as it always did. Dunno where the idea that it's awful now is coming from.

I would say one of the best for single spot - I am personally using granade launcher + ATGM on APCs

The autocannon be it the vehicle or squad portable variant are horrible

It's only like 3 shots and rarely more than 2 land

A heavy machine gun is a far better choice until even that can be swapped out for something better

Unless I'm trying to set up shots for really low AP weapons on other SLs, due to the way durability damage reduction favours shots with higher base armor damage, yea I'd say M6 easily wins overall even against targets it shouldn't.
Currently nothing short of an RA Heavy Tank can reliably stop an M6.

It's a bit too powerful I'd say.

because you are using a very expensive unit to have avearge firepower, you can dual link much more specialised guns so you get either great anti-infantry or great anti-vehicle, dual autocannons are average and depend a lot on the skills of the pilot.
I had an achileas with a lot of crit and accuracy, autocannons were ok but almost all other options were better and ammo was begining to be a problem.
Not to mention a single autocannon is very weak now, not enough dakka

Autocannons on paper are better than CMG, but in practice CMG is more reliable for sustained DPS, especially against infantry. Autocannons also need Fragmentation perk to be any good against infantry, CMG doesn't. Achilleas with Lancer also could use CMG to penetrate all but most armoured enemies up close. Ivey with her core perk is also good with CMG because she will always land at least some of her shots.
If you do have Rewa with Tankbuster+To Shreds however... she is still very good with autocannons.
