In the trailer video they posted recently you can see an orbital strike, I think you're referring to. See ten seconds in:

Switch from 2D to 3D is unfortunate imo. BB's art style was one of the major initial selling points for me. 2D leaves so much more to the imagination and BB's look really had something unique about it that I never find in any 3D game.

I can see where you're coming from but I think it might be difficult to play a game like Menace in 2d style. An isometric environment where you want to establish a sense of scale between buildings, mecha, tanks, and foot infantry, all of which are destructible, would be very tough to pull off in 2D (whereas Battle Brothers IIRC didn't have any superlarge units or destructible environments).
