Is this kind of like Amplitude/Frequency?
What is this game like? Is it more of a racing game or a rhythm game or something different? I'm interested because I like music games, but I'm just wondering what kind of experience this is.

This is a first person puzzle/exploration game where the puzzles have musical elements.

It's gooood. The puzzles are obscure (if unsure or stuck, right click may help) and if you've used a sequencer before it will help.

Wow, nice to see another FreQ (FreQuency/Amplitude fan). When I first saw this game in a trailer back at the start of 2014, the graphical style was very evocative of said early Harmonix music games what with the glowy bits everywhere and the "futuristic alien" style to the world.

This game is actually a first-person exploration and puzzle-solving game where the world is built around sound. Most of the environmental elements have electronic musical cues to them. The game may be a little tough to get into because of its "drop you in a strange world" nature, but that's the whole point of adventure games after all.

It's also actually meant to teach you some of the basics of sound synthesis (waveforms, filters, volume envelopes, etc.) and a lot of the interactive elements in the game resemble components of synthesizers, such as dials, sliders, and X-Y grids. Then again, I'm kind of into synthesizers, so I understood quite a bit about how everything works already.

It's even got a fairly robust studio which you can use to create your own music. Features will unlock as you solve more puzzles in the game. I don't want to spoil too much for you though. If you really want to see what the game is like, just watch a first impressions video. Just remember to stop as soon as you decide you want the game because experience is everything with this game. Hope this long post helps!

Sry, I know this thread has been dead for a couple years, but I noticed that there are 2 FreQs in the discussion! ^_6 If you FreQs weren't already aware that they rebooted the series, check out Amplitude: A Cult Classic Reborn on the PS3/PS4! ^_6 Also, check out the Steam Branch of The FreQ Community here:

And it's a Public Group, so feel free to join! ^_6 WUB WUB!
