Game Crashes after "intro"

I had this problem but if I closed the other programs I had open it got past this. I think I also tried skipping the cutscene too. Probably some sort of memory issue.

i just can't play is because of really bad mouse and graphics lag. Official forums were full of the usual "it's yor system's fault not ours" I mean COME ON this is not 1995. I have over 30 games from steam and this is the only one that has not worked!!! I should not have to slave games to GPU's manualy of clean my ram with a toothbrush. I pay good money and what do i get. goolash. There respect for the end user seems to be NIL. "oh send us your dxdiag" "oh your sharing memory" "oh sorry we can't help you". This is why we have quality control. We live in the age of patches so please patch your problems and help us all enjoy what we paid good money for. THE END
p.s I really don't rant very often so please forgive this one. I was just really looking foward to playing it.

Hm.. do you run other programs with the game? Do you have up-to-date drivers?

yes. all drivers are regularly updated and no other programs running at same time. I run win 7 64 bit a quad core i7 8gb ram nvidia 660ti gpu. can play most games on high settings accross the board. So why a visually pleasing yet otherwise simple(im no expert)point and click game should lag and jitter so bad...

When I turned it on, the game was pretty much unplayable. I have win 7 64 bit, i7, 16GB RAM and Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti.
Is it really the same when you turn it off?

thanks for your intrest. i am currently re installing and will run through all the settings tomorrow morning again. getting late here in australia :). i will post after i try again.

Well Thank You Kami. After doing a re-instrall and starting the game with Texture Compression
UN-CHECKED it seems to be running ok. I have not notice any degridation in quality either.
I hope it continuses to work well and I also hope Daedalic sort out some of the issues people are having (even if it's just a notice in set-up that explains to people what to do)

I am also having this problem where the game crashes as soon as the first scene in the cave begins. That's 2 for 2 today with the games I bought on Steam crashing right at the outset. The other one is a lost cause, but I went to verify this game's files (fail) and now it is downloading all over again. So frustrating. Has anyone else had this problem? Were you able to fix it?

I had this issue as well, the game was crashing after the intro, right after it showed the Memoria text. What I did was spam Esc as soon as I saw "Memoria" and it moved on without crashing.

If you get this error go to your C:\Users\*profilename*\AppData\Local\Daedalic Entertainment folder and delete the folder named "memoria".

Start the game again and steam will give you a sync error saying it cannot sync your local files (which is OK), and create everything all over again.

After that, do the beginning with the girl and the guy in the tent and hit ESC once the intro movie starts to play. After that point - everything should work just fine
