Boss in Chapter 7 broken? [Spoilers]

Hi there,

I cannot figure out how to beat the boss of Chapter 7, tried everything I could think of. Finally I gave up and watched a youtube video how someone did it, only then noticing that the worm in my game keeps running in the same ellipsoid path, while in the video it doesn't. So whatever I did I could not get the worm's tail in near the head and thus could not convince the boss of eating itself.

Am I missing something else here or is it bugged? Playing under archllinux in 64 bit if that matters.

Hint 1: when the boss eats a piece of you, it grows.

Hint 2: even if you're bad at controlling it, if you feed it enough, it'll become so long it won't be able to avoid eating it's tail.

Oh so that's why it died. i had no idea how I defeated that boss. i just kept squirming around on top of it and then it died and I had no idea what I did.

I'm triing the no death achievement for a wile now and noticed the different boss route too. linke in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryIlHa4tktA. I think this looks a lot easier than it is now. why did the devs change it?

you can see which way the boss is going in the video. now the boss just goes in a ellipse. always the same...

As far as I can tell they wanted to make getting Pacifist harder. They also made the poison pool after the chapter 2 boss much wider, and changed the curve of the ceiling to make growing across it harder. It may be that the only way to get Pacifist now is a really tough, twitchy one on the level 5 boss (where any small mistake means you have to replay the entire level).

we are talking about the no death achievement^^. because the pacifist doesn't have to do with chapter 7... I got the pacifist achievement in chapter 2. I would have gotten the no death achievement in chapter 7 but I always die at least once at the boss.
