[SPOILERS] Scene at end of credits that abruptly cuts to black?

After the credits roll, the mushroom cloud deposits a spore at the bottom of an escalator where there is some interesting eye graffiti on the wall. The spore grows into a full mushroom that I would expect to be able to play and climb the escalator (for a final, final cut scene), but the game just abruptly cuts to black.

The escalator is just the beginning of the game, so if you want to play it just load up chapter one.

Weird that it deposits you there and not at the actual beginning of the level. The escalator isn’t the very beginning
