To the developers: This game has a plethora of new and original ideas. Most of my Steam games are played for <5 hours - I get bored with the current game and so I just move on! One fairly current Steam game was "so tedious, due to the game's configuration", that I took it off my computer after 200 hours of game play. Not so with Betrayer. This game is addicting! Part of my enjoyment stems from a wide ranging environment, where I can explore on my own. I've spent over 1,000 hours on an older game (no name mentioned), exploring the desert areas of Nevada. I really didn't need to finish that game in its entirety, since exploration really turns my crank! Ah, such bliss. Additionally, I don't need a developer to "hold my hand", while I explore the game's environs. The thrill is doing the exploring on your own and then figuring out, "how do I solve this problem"? In essence, trying to figure out a problem (such as totems popping out of the ground at night, when they were NOT there during the daylight), is gratifying!
The "black and white" content does not bother me, although it took awhile to get used to a B&W environment. That said, the red colored Spanish soldiers and spiders are easy to identify against a B&W background.
To the newbies: The deadliest weapon is the short bow with an expanded quiver. The chiefs' bow is devastating against enemies, due to its high rate of fire. You can always go back and pick up your spent arrows. Never buy short arrows again: just get in a fight with the indians and pick up their spent arrows. Hey, it works for me.
Black Powder - keep up the good work.

You can turn on the color as you know. The enemies will still remain detectable.
