I had the demo for this on PS1 and have wanted to play the full version since, um thanks eidos. Anyone tested this with a 360 pad?

I have and in my opinion, it's almost unusable. The game is amazing, but the controls are the weakest link and unfortunately, it doesn't work well at all on 360 controllers. The game is unresponsive and the joysticks barely control the character.

Yeah I just tried it with my 360 pad, didn't work well. It seems to interpret the sticks as digital instead of analogue and the sensitivity is super-high. I couldn't get Darcy to stop walking backwards in circles when I just wanted her to stand still. Googling for help doesn't seem to yield anything useful. :( Might have to disconnect the pad and just play with keyboard.

That was close I almost bought this, looks like companies are just posting old code they find lying around lately. haha, or downloading it from abandonware sites and uploading it to steam :P

This is a real pitty, if I remember right the ps1 game had duel shock support. Guess I should check out the "other" ways of playing it.

a lot of these old games like soul reaver or dmc3 work badly with controller but if you use xpadder and map the buttons to the corresponding keyboard keys you can adjust deadzones and sensitivity on the sticks and make it just as playable as the ps1 controller for the original.

I want a refund. Dont work with 360 pad and only a s*** resolution. What a pile of s***. Not impressed at all.

So people don't do their homework before buying something and blame the store.

Xpadder or joy2key will transform this game using a 360 controller. Takes all of 2 minutes to map a profile and well worth it.

if it was that easy how come the dev couldnt figure it out?
Not sure if I trust this game would work that well with a controller even mapped using a third party program.

It is in no way altered from the original release more than a decade ago. So NO. You would know this from reading.

I'm trying to set a JoyToKey profile for the game, but the ingame support for my pad is there and causing trouble. How am I suppose to disable that?

Ive done controller mapping before, here is a trick to try please report back if it works with this game so we know if it works or need another workaround.

What you can try is starting the game with the controller disconnected, go through to the menus to the game, then start xpadder and turn on or plug in controller. This may bypass the ingame gamepad detection which may only run at the start, since if the code is unchanged from ten years ago it shouldnt be able to constantly poll for it.

Gave it a try, and still walking backwards in circles. :(
