Does Multiplayer Work?

As per title.

they label the game as single player, but the original version is indeed multiplayer....like dynasty warriors 8 extreme legends complete edition....this is a rip

In case anyone else has the same question, I did some research:
While there is technically multiplayer, it is non-functional. Not only because there is no longer a way to connect to someone via the client.

Even if you use a workaround with Hamachi or Gameranger, the game still desynchs almost instantaneously, and multiplayer is therefore unplayable.

Shame.

Have you tried using the TCP/IP option? I've had great success in many of the older games I play using that option. It requires knowing what the host's IP address is and the host forwarding the appropriate ports.

Nothing works. TCP/IP with port forwarding and creating a virtual LAN both result in desynch. It is the game's netcode, not the connection.

- Do not use gamespy. The game works much better on TCP IP/LAN
- Do not try to save. Do not pause. Do not open the menu.
- Disable autosaves. There are a number of reports that the autosave itself causes the crashes and that disabled the autosaving by write-protecting the file might help. To disable autosaves find all autosave*.sav files, right click > properties > read only.

That's all I've got. I haven't tried playing this online yet, but TCP/IP has been the best bet with older games. Hopefully it helps.

Is there a way to set our team as the Same flag? Right now we play seperately and it would be nice to be allied as same clan flag-name. This can be done in Spacebase Startopia Online, but perhaps not Startopia original?
