Greetings, ashen warriors!

After giving the project a solid thought-through with the demo released for the public, we decided to postpone the release of the game. We'd like to take some time to go back to the drawing board with Tree of Ashes, tighten up the design an focus on a solid hook that makes the game stand out from the crowd.

We plan to leave the demo up for anyone that wants to try the game and we will post more updates in the future when we are ready to share any new information.

What's going on at Ancient Forge?

Why would you make this game? It's such a blatant copy of Vampire Survivors, like it's almost a 1:1 clone of it. It even has the funny lootbox screen lol. Are you guys that out of ideas that you have to clone other developers games? What happened to the originality? Like your Tenants game? Did all of the creative people leave the studio? You must be better, Ancient Forge. Don't stoop to the level of making cheap vampire survivors clones, there's already hundreds of them, we don't need more. There's not...

Demo feedback

Tried the demo - interesting choice to use BIG sprites but this leads to my issues Firstly, the classic problem of hitboxes - as this is 2D-pseudo-3D, the ENTIRE sprite should no be the hitbox. In the world the sprites aren't "lying down" so it's usually just the feet or even the shadow which are 'colliding' - but here it seems to be the entire sprite!?! Secondly, it's usual to have some sort of immunity-frame idea so that if you clip past a couple of monsters you don't lose a tonne of heath (a limit o...

gameplay looks like a clone of vampire survivors with a few UI and art style tweaks. even the chest fruit machine thing is too similar. i hope this is a test draft and the release game will look different, it'll always be known as a vampire survivor clone otherwise....
