I like the idea they were going with (a living world/not reloading constantly)... but I've got too many time constraints now to not be able to save and leave when I need to. :|
Hopefully I can get those mods to work so I can finally play this damn game.
Well, then that would be called "manage"ing them, now wouldn't it. Cause if you have them, and then you don't, then you didn't manage them very well. So, who here hasn't played Resident Evil?
Saving is tricky when you first return to the game because no indication is given that the save happened. It looks for all the world like you were just booted out of the sneak instead. So whenever I started a fresh install, I always ended up wasting the first 3 saves.
No trouble with running out of rings, though. But as many times as I've played through, I now have a good idea where to find them all.
Trying to play any game 20 minutes at a time would drive me absolutely batty. 2 hours seems like barely enough for looking around. But if you don't feel like downloading some third party hack, I suggest devoting your system to it. Instead of saving, leave the computer paused until you can return and play some more.
Progress is fairly simple, and items scattered throughout the city are never located in the elevators. Not looking in them will save a ton of time. Load an early save and play through the main story without actively looking for those few seteks and documents, and catching up is pretty easy. It may not be the best solution imaginable, but you can never know your way around the city well enough anyway.
Anekbah's design is basic but organic enough to confuse. It's only now, after two decades of open world gaming, that I feel I know my way around it completely. The side that the game opens up on contains gates to Jaunpur and a secondary one to the pleasure district Qalisar. Only 2 apartment buildings contain collectibles. They are together, across the street from each other. That is the street that intersects the main street. You will not need to go looking, as the story will lead you to the first apartment. There is also a bar containing 2 documents, but you will find the same elsewhere without having to look here. Otherwise you don't need to search that part of town.
